Zapier Vendor Profiles — Legal, Insurance, Property
Research date: 2026-08-17
Sources: Zapier app catalog (identified-vendors.json) plus public company, press, and product pages. Unknowns marked Unknown.
Zap counts are Zapier-reported usage counts from the local catalog, not live API pulls.
Thesis (from vertical map)
- Vertical 5 — Legal Practice & Case Management (19 apps). High density. ILTACON beachhead. Every record is destined for a court, opposing counsel, regulator, or client. Buyers already understand what a hash proves.
- Vertical 6 — Insurance & Claims (16 apps). Claim files are litigated; adjuster and agency documentation is the first thing challenged. Independent agencies buy their own tools — low IT friction.
- Vertical 9 — Property, Title & Mortgage (17 apps). Direct adjacency to Catalis (courts, land records, e-recording, official records). Title chain, lease execution, and condition reports are provenance problems. Handle carefully to avoid channel conflict with municipal/title software.
Ownership clusters that matter for GTM
| Cluster | Brands on this list | Implication |
|---|---|---|
| 8am (formerly AffiniPay; TA Associates majority) | MyCase, CASEpeer, Docketwise | One parent, three Zapier apps. Not Clio. |
| Clio (Themis Solutions) | Clio only | Did not acquire MyCase / AffiniPay. Competitor to 8am. |
| Filevine | Filevine, Vinesign | Same stack; e-sign is the sealing moment. |
| Paradigm / Francisco Partners | PracticePanther | PE legal-tech rollup (with Bill4Time, MerusCase). |
| ProfitSolv (FTV + Lightyear) | CosmoLex | Multi-brand legal PMS + payments. |
| Vertafore / Roper (NYSE: ROP) | Vertafore, AgencyZoom | Enterprise AMS + P&C sales CRM. |
| Applied Systems (Hellman & Friedman) | EZLynx | Rating + AMS. Enterprise procurement. |
| Zillow Group | Dotloop, Follow Up Boss | Transaction file + lead CRM. Highest Zap volume in V9. |
| Radweb | Property Inspect, InventoryBase | Same founder/team; two Zapier listings, one inspection-record thesis. |
| MRI Software | VaultRE (MRI Vault) | Enterprise proptech. Adjacent to official records. |
Vertical 5 — Legal Practice & Case Management (19)
Why independent cryptographic proof matters in this vertical. Matter files, pleadings, intake forms, time entries, trust ledgers, affidavits of service, USCIS packets, and executed engagement letters are later produced in discovery, bar complaints, fee disputes, and malpractice actions. Vendor-attested audit logs are the vendor’s own word. A contemporaneous hash + independent timestamp lets the firm (or opposing party) prove the record existed, unaltered, at a stated time — without asking Clio, Filevine, or 8am to testify about their own database.
Zapier role. These apps already emit “matter created / document uploaded / invoice sent / form submitted” events. A Zap is the lowest-friction way to seal those events without a native OEM deal. High-zap names (Clio, Lawmatics, MyCase) are distribution; low-zap specialists (ServeManager, Docketwise, Gavel) are higher-value records per event.
1. Clio
- Parent / owner: Themis Solutions Inc. (independent). Founders Jack Newton and Rian Gauvreau.
- Website: https://www.goclio.com (product: https://www.clio.com)
- Zap count: 2,025 (rank ~161)
- USP: Category-defining cloud practice management (Clio Manage) plus intake CRM (Clio Grow) and legal AI (Clio Work / vLex research). “Run the firm and practice the law in one platform.”
- ICP: Solo through mid-size law firms globally; expanding into larger firms via AI + research after vLex.
- HQ / founding / funding: Burnaby / Vancouver, British Columbia. Founded 2008. Nov 2025: closed US$1B acquisition of vLex (largest legal-tech M&A) and US$500M Series G led by NEA at a US$5B valuation, plus a US$350M debt facility. Combined ARR cited ~US$400M; ~400,000 legal professionals. Prior mega-round was 2021 (~US$900M / unicorn).
- Pricing posture: Premium SaaS, published per-user tiers. Starter / EasyStart ~$49/user/mo; Essentials ~$89; Advanced ~$119; Complete / Elite ~$149+ (annual). Grow and AI are add-ons. Enterprise sales above that.
- Record held: Matter file of record — contacts, notes, time, trust and operating ledgers, invoices, documents, calendar, client-portal messages, e-sign packages. After vLex: legal research + work product tied to the matter.
- Why independent proof matters: Fee disputes, trust-account exams, malpractice, and opposing-party authenticity challenges all attack “when was this note / bill / document created.” Clio’s log is vendor-attested. Sealing time entries, trust transfers, and filed work product at write-time is the ILTACON story.
- Zapier role: Highest-volume legal Zap on this list. Best top-of-funnel OEM/Zap partner. Trigger on matter created, activity logged, bill issued, document uploaded → seal. Do not treat as a closed ecosystem; 250+ integrations already exist.
2. Lawmatics
- Parent / owner: Independent (Lawmatics, Inc.). Founder/CEO Matt Spiegel.
- Website: https://www.lawmatics.com
- Zap count: 813 (rank ~305)
- USP: AI-powered legal CRM + marketing automation + intake. Converts website/leads into signed clients; complementary to PMS (esp. Clio Manage).
- ICP: Growth-oriented plaintiff, immigration, family, consumer, and PI firms that live and die on intake conversion.
- HQ / founding / funding: San Diego, CA (4250 Executive Square). Founded 2017. $2.5M seed (Oct 2020); $10M Series A (Dec 2021). Later rounds: Unknown (custom-quote posture suggests they stopped publishing).
- Pricing posture: Mid-premium, increasingly quote-led. Historical public tiers
$49 / $69 / $89 per user/mo; firm-level plans often cited **$199–$499+/mo**. AI features moving to credit / outcome-based pricing. - Record held: Lead source, intake questionnaire, conflict check, engagement letter status, nurture history, signed retainers. The “when did we first hear from this client / when did they sign” file.
- Why independent proof matters: Advertising-rule and solicitation disputes, fee-split fights, and “we never hired you” engagement contests turn on intake timestamps. Retainer execution + first-contact time are the sealing events.
- Zapier role: Second-highest legal zap. Natural Zap: form submitted / matter created in Lawmatics → seal PDF + metadata → push to Clio/Filevine. High partner willingness (they live on integrations).
3. MyCase (8am MyCase)
- Parent / owner: 8am (rebrand of AffiniPay, Austin). Majority owner TA Associates. Not Clio. AffiniPay acquired MyCase from Apax (June 2022); portfolio rebranded to 8am in Aug 2025.
- Website: https://www.mycase.com
- Zap count: 609 (rank ~350)
- USP: All-in-one SMB legal PMS with native billing, client portal, and LawPay rails. Simpler/cheaper than Clio for small firms.
- ICP: Solo and small US law firms wanting one login for matters + billing + payments.
- HQ / founding / funding: Product roots in Goleta / Santa Barbara, CA (founded ~2010). Parent HQ Austin, TX. Parent founded 2005 as AffiniPay. Funding is PE (TA + Apax minority), not venture rounds.
- Pricing posture: Mid-market published SaaS, typically below Clio on headline price; payments take-rate is the real P&L. Quote + published plans. Competes as “good enough all-in-one.”
- Record held: Same class as Clio at smaller-firm depth: matters, time, trust, documents, portal messages, invoices.
- Why independent proof matters: Same as Clio, plus 8am’s payments + PMS combination means the vendor both holds the ledger and processes the money. Independent seal of trust transfers and invoices reduces “the processor attested its own books” risk.
- Zapier role: Strong SMB distribution. Zap to seal invoice paid / document uploaded. Family play: one conversation can cover MyCase + CASEpeer + Docketwise.
4. Filevine
- Parent / owner: Independent. Founder & CEO Ryan Anderson (former litigator).
- Website: https://www.filevine.com
- Zap count: 311 (rank ~543)
- USP: Highly customizable “legal operating system” for high-volume litigation (PI, mass tort, employment). Docs, tasks, reporting, AI (LOIS), VineConnect portal, Vinesign, payments.
- ICP: Mid-size to large plaintiff / high-volume litigation firms that outgrow MyCase/Clio and want custom objects.
- HQ / founding / funding: Salt Lake City, UT. Founded 2015. $400M all-equity across two rounds in ~15 months, closed Sep 2025, led by Insight Partners, Accel, Halo Fund (Ryan Smith / Qualtrics); prior investors Meritech, StepStone, etc. Reported ~$3B valuation. Earlier Series B ~$103M.
- Pricing posture: Enterprise / quote-only. Implementation-heavy. High ACV vs Clio/MyCase.
- Record held: The litigation working file — medical records, demand packages, settlement authority, task history, custom fields that become damages models, client comms, e-signed releases.
- Why independent proof matters: PI/mass-tort files are reconstructed years later in lien fights, Medicare, bad-faith, and legal-malpractice cases. Custom fields get edited. Sealing demand packages, medical chronology exports, and settlement releases at generation time is the product.
- Zapier role: Mid-volume but high value per zap. Native Vinesign is a better OEM surface than Zapier for execution; Zapier is best for sealing inbound docs and status changes that never go through Vinesign.
5. PracticePanther Legal Software
- Parent / owner: Paradigm (Alpine SG rollup), Francisco Partners growth investment Oct 2021 (~$400M deal reported). Sister brands: Bill4Time, MerusCase, Headnote. Not AffiniPay/Clio.
- Website: https://www.practicepanther.com
- Zap count: 256 (rank ~608)
- USP: Simple, affordable all-in-one PMS for solos/small firms; strong intake + billing; PantherPayments (AffiniPay/LawPay rails underneath, so payments are shared infrastructure with 8am even though PMS ownership is not).
- ICP: Price-sensitive US solos and small firms; also used internationally.
- HQ / founding / funding: Miami, FL. Founded ~2012. Alpine acquired 2018; Francisco 2021. No public venture rounds after that.
- Pricing posture: Value / mid. Published ~$49 / $69 / $89 / $114 per user/mo (Solo → Business Pro). Undercuts Clio.
- Record held: Matters, time, invoices, retainers, documents, basic CRM.
- Why independent proof matters: Same SMB legal-record thesis as MyCase, at a buyer who will not pay for a native security add-on unless it is a Zap or a cheap SKU.
- Zapier role: Good long-tail. PE parent may be slower on OEM; Zap-first is the realistic motion.
6. Actionstep
- Parent / owner: Independent operating company, Serent Capital (investment announced Sep 2020). Acquired LawMaster (2022), FilePro (2023), Soluno (legal accounting, from AffiniPay, Sep 2023).
- Website: https://www.actionstep.com
- Zap count: 225 (rank ~669)
- USP: Workflow-centric PMS for midsize firms; configurable matter workflows + (via Soluno) serious legal accounting. Positions above Clio/MyCase, below elite enterprise.
- ICP: Midsize firms in US, Canada, ANZ, UK that have outgrown SMB PMS but will not buy Aderant/Elite.
- HQ / founding / funding: Auckland, New Zealand (HQ); significant Denver / North America presence. Founded ~2008 (Capital Partners previously held a majority stake). PE-backed, terms Unknown. Combined ~35,000 subscribers cited (2023), ~15,000 in NA.
- Pricing posture: Mid-to-premium, quote-led, implementation included. Not a $49/user flyer.
- Record held: Matter workflows, precedents, time, trust/accounting (Soluno), documents. Workflow completion timestamps are as important as the documents.
- Why independent proof matters: Midsize firms face audits, partner disputes, and trust exams. Workflow “step completed” is often the contemporaneous evidence that a limitation period or filing duty was met.
- Zapier role: Useful for sealing workflow-complete and document-generate events. PE buyer (Serent) is a plausible OEM conversation if ILTACON traction exists.
7. Smokeball
- Parent / owner: Independent. Founders Hunter Steele, Jane Oxley, Bart Vadala (Australian legaltech).
- Website: https://www.smokeball.com
- Zap count: 183 (rank ~778)
- USP: PMS with automatic time capture from desktop activity + jurisdiction-specific document automation (250+ matter types) + Smokeball AI. “We watch the work and bill it.”
- ICP: Small/mid firms in US and Australia that leak time and want precedents baked in (esp. litigation, family, conveyancing in AU).
- HQ / founding / funding: Global HQ Sydney; US office Chicago (200 W Adams). Founded 2010/2011; US expansion 2013. $30M private round Sep 2021 (private investors + employees). Later: Unknown.
- Pricing posture: Premium published floor from $149/user/mo (Boost / Grow / Prosper families). Higher than Clio starter — sold on recovered time.
- Record held: Auto-captured time, matter documents, precedents used, trust, correspondence. The generated pleading/letter is the high-value object.
- Why independent proof matters: Auto time-capture will be attacked as unreliable in fee hearings. Sealing the generated document + the activity stream that produced it is a differentiator Smokeball cannot claim today.
- Zapier role: Mid. Native document generation is a better seal point than Zapier; use Zapier for outbound (bill sent, matter closed).
8. CASEpeer (8am CasePeer)
- Parent / owner: 8am (via MyCase/AffiniPay 2022 acquisition of the MyCase family; CasePeer had been under MyCase/Apax). Rebranded 8am CasePeer (2025).
- Website: https://www.casepeer.com
- Zap count: 174 (rank ~810)
- USP: Purpose-built personal-injury case management: treatment tracking, statute dates, settlement, liens — out of the box, unlike generic Filevine.
- ICP: US PI firms, especially small/mid that do not want Filevine implementation.
- HQ / founding / funding: Orange County / Irvine, CA product roots. Parent 8am / Austin / TA Associates.
- Pricing posture: Mid-premium PI SaaS, typically quote. Positioned cheaper/faster than Filevine.
- Record held: PI case chronology — incident, treatment, bills, demands, offers, releases, lien ledger. This is the claims file that carriers and courts reconstruct.
- Why independent proof matters: Strongest PI-specific proof story on the list. Demand packages and medical-bill ledgers are routinely accused of being altered. Seal at demand-generate and release-sign (often via Dropbox Sign today).
- Zapier role: Solid. Zap: demand generated / status → settlement → seal PDF. Family sale with MyCase/LawPay.
9. Lawcus
- Parent / owner: Lawcus Inc. Independent. Bootstrapped / lightly funded.
- Website: https://lawcus.com
- Zap count: 140 (rank ~922)
- USP: Visual, Kanban-style PMS + billing + trust + light automation at a Clio-like feature set and a lower price. “One app, all things legal” for firms that find Clio heavy.
- ICP: Cost-conscious solos and small firms (US and international), including PI and general practice.
- HQ / founding / funding: US (commonly associated with Texas). Founded ~2014. Public funding Unknown / effectively bootstrapped. Third-party estimates (GetLatka) ~$5M ARR / $15M valuation — treat as unverified.
- Pricing posture: Value. Published roughly $34–$89/user/mo depending on plan and annual vs monthly (Standard / Plus / Business / Elite).
- Record held: Matters, pipelines, documents, trust, invoices, automations.
- Why independent proof matters: Same SMB legal-record thesis. Buyer is price-sensitive — proof must be a cheap Zap, not a $30/user add-on.
- Zapier role: Good experimental partner. Fast product team, integration-led growth.
10. Docketwise (8am DocketWise)
- Parent / owner: 8am. Acquired by MyCase (Dec 2024 / announced on product blog); now 8am DocketWise. Founder historically James Pittman / Peskin (immigration software).
- Website: https://www.docketwise.com
- Zap count: 113 (rank ~1022)
- USP: Immigration practice management + USCIS/DOS forms generation. Intake → forms → case.
- ICP: US immigration boutiques and midsize immigration practices.
- HQ / founding / funding: US (product historically Philadelphia-area). Parent 8am / TA. Standalone funding history superseded by acquisition.
- Pricing posture: Mid, quote + published plans. Forms completeness is the value, not seat price.
- Record held: Immigration forms packages, supporting evidence, G-28s, receipt/priority dates, biometrics, RFEs. These packets go to USCIS; copies are later used in federal court and bar matters.
- Why independent proof matters: “Which version of the I-485 / what evidence was filed on what day” is a recurring fight. Independent seal of the generated packet and uploaded evidence at submit-time is immigration-specific and high-stakes.
- Zapier role: Forms-heavy. Zap on form packet generated / case status change. Family play with 8am.
11. LEAP (Legal)
- Parent / owner: LEAP Legal Software. Founder Christian Beck. Privately held (no PE announcement found).
- Website: https://www.leaplegalsoftware.com
- Zap count: 77 (rank ~1236)
- USP: Cloud legal productivity suite: PMS + document automation + legal accounting + billing + AI, sold as one product. Dominant in Australia; pushing US/UK/Canada.
- ICP: Small/mid firms in AU/NZ first; US expansion targeting firms that want precedents + accounting together (conveyancing, family, general practice).
- HQ / founding / funding: Sydney, NSW. Founded 1992. No traditional VC. Founder has publicly described the broader legal businesses as very large (billion-dollar-scale revenue claims across the group — treat as founder-stated, not audited here).
- Pricing posture: Premium bundle, quote-led, often contract + per-user. Sold as replacement for multiple tools.
- Record held: Matter, automated documents (jurisdiction packs), trust, bills, client files. Conveyancing packs are title-adjacent (see Catalis note).
- Why independent proof matters: Generated conveyancing and court documents are the version of record. In AU, LEAP is how many firms produce the instrument that later sits on title.
- Zapier role: Lower zap volume (sticky native suite). US growth is the opening. Catalis adjacency: medium on AU/US conveyancing document generation — not a county system, but it authors instruments that get recorded.
- Channel-conflict risk: Medium if you sell “seal the deed/settlement pack” into the same county/title buyers Catalis already serves. Low if you sell only to the law firm as a malpractice/audit feature.
12. CosmoLex
- Parent / owner: ProfitSolv (formed 2020 by Lightyear Capital; FTV Capital + Lightyear strategic investment Jun 2025). Sister brands: Rocket Matter, Orion, Tabs3, TimeSolv, LexCharge, Law Ruler, others. Acquired Tabs3 + CosmoLex 2021.
- Website: https://www.cosmolex.com
- Zap count: 44 (rank ~1652)
- USP: PMS with built-in legal accounting (trust + operating in one ledger) — “don’t sync QuickBooks.” Strong compliance story for trust.
- ICP: Small/mid US firms that want ABA-compliant books inside the PMS.
- HQ / founding / funding: Product historically North Brunswick, NJ. Parent ProfitSolv (US PE). Founded as CosmoLex ~2010s.
- Pricing posture: Mid-premium subscription; plans vary by users/features. Public pages push quote; third-party cites ~$147/mo for small CRM bundles — treat as directional. Real money is per-user PMS + LexCharge.
- Record held: The trust ledger and matter financials — three-way reconcilable books, plus matter docs.
- Why independent proof matters: Trust accounting is already a regulatory expectation. Today CosmoLex attests its own ledger. Sealing deposits, disbursements, and reconciliation snapshots is the IRS/bar-exam version of the DataCubes story.
- Zapier role: Lower volume. High value per event (trust transaction). PE parent is an OEM candidate if you can talk trust-exam language.
13. CampLegal
- Parent / owner: Independent. Fully remote team.
- Website: https://www.camplegal.com
- Zap count: 40 (rank ~1752)
- USP: Immigration CMS built from scratch for family and business immigration — USCIS e-filing, receipt extraction, smart forms — not a generic PMS with immigration bolted on.
- ICP: US immigration firms (family + business), competing with Docketwise / LawLogix.
- HQ / founding / funding: Philadelphia, PA (HQ listed). Founded 2017. Company size ~11–50. Funding Unknown (no material VC coverage found).
- Pricing posture: SMB SaaS, demo/quote. Competes on immigration depth, not brand.
- Record held: Same class as Docketwise — petitions, receipts, evidence, priority dates, payment records.
- Why independent proof matters: Same USCIS packet-integrity story as Docketwise. Smaller vendor = weaker vendor-attestation story in federal litigation (“your SaaS startup says the PDF is authentic”).
- Zapier role: Modest. Easy design partner. Zap on receipt extracted / packet generated.
14. ServeManager
- Parent / owner: Independent. Co-founder/CTO Trent Carlyle; small private company.
- Website: https://www.servemanager.com
- Zap count: 90 (rank ~1131)
- USP: Operating system for process-serving companies: jobs, routing, mobile serve attempts, affidavits / proofs of service, invoicing, client portal for law firms.
- ICP: US process-serving agencies (from mom-and-pop to multi-state) and the law-firm clients who track serves.
- HQ / founding / funding: Denver, CO. Founded ~2007. Funding Unknown / bootstrapped.
- Pricing posture: Value SMB. Historical public floor from ~$44/mo. Unlimited employees on higher plans.
- Record held: Proof of service / affidavit — attempt GPS/time, photos, recipient description, e-signed affidavit. This is a court-filed instrument.
- Why independent proof matters: Best single-record story in Vertical 5 after PI demands. Substituted service and “I was never served” motions attack exactly this log. Independent seal of attempt + affidavit at creation time is the product.
- Zapier role: High signal, moderate volume. Zap: job completed / affidavit generated → seal. Law-firm side: status webhook into Clio/Filevine + seal.
- Channel-conflict risk: Low–medium. Courts consume the affidavit; Catalis courts products may store the filed return of service. Selling to process servers (not clerks) is the clean side of the line.
15. Clarra
- Parent / owner: Legal Soft (CEO Hamid Kohan; virtual staffing + legal ops). Clarra site describes a union/merger of Clarra case management with Legal Soft.
- Website: https://www.clarra.com
- Zap count: 14 (rank ~2797)
- USP: Lightweight cloud case/practice management for litigation and legal ops; also marketed to insurers, adjusters, entertainment. Bundled with Legal Soft’s staffing pitch.
- ICP: Small litigation firms and Legal Soft staffing customers; secondary: claims shops needing a cheap case database.
- HQ / founding / funding: Legal Soft founded 2016 (US). Clarra founding date Unknown. Funding Unknown.
- Pricing posture: SMB / unknown list price; sold alongside services. Low ACV likely.
- Record held: Case tasks, notes, documents — generic matter file, thinner than Clio.
- Why independent proof matters: Weak vendor attestation (small vendor). Any litigation use still produces discoverable notes. Proof is a differentiator vs “random case tracker.”
- Zapier role: Low priority except as a Legal Soft wedge. 14 zaps = almost no distribution.
16. Firm360
- Parent / owner: Independent. Founder Brandon Gray (practicing accountant).
- Website: https://www.myfirm360.com
- Zap count: 13 (rank ~2891)
- USP: Accounting/CPA practice management (workflow, time, billing, client comms) — not a law-firm product. Misfiled in this Zapier legal bucket.
- ICP: US small/mid CPA and bookkeeping firms.
- HQ / founding / funding: Raleigh, NC. Founded 2019. Funding Unknown (appears bootstrapped).
- Pricing posture: Straightforward SMB; third-party comps ~$58–$85/user-equivalent. US-based support as the pitch.
- Record held: Engagement workflow, workpapers pointers, time, invoices, client messages — accountant work product, not legal matters.
- Why independent proof matters: Better in Vertical 7 (Accounting). Workpaper “completed on date X” is an IRS-exam story. Leave in this file only as a catalog note.
- Zapier role: Low. Do not lead legal GTM with this app.
17. Vinesign by Filevine
- Parent / owner: Filevine.
- Website: https://www.filevine.com/integrations/vinesign/
- Zap count: 19 (rank ~2465)
- USP: Filevine-native e-sign (and public API) so PI/litigation firms collect signatures without leaving the case file. Can pair with Filevine Payments.
- ICP: Existing Filevine firms; some standalone API use.
- HQ / founding / funding: Same as Filevine (SLC; $3B / $400M 2025).
- Pricing posture: Bundled / quote with Filevine. Usage-based e-sign economics typical of the category.
- Record held: Executed releases, medical authorizations, fee contracts, settlement docs — the signature ceremony plus the bound PDF.
- Why independent proof matters: This is Vertical 1 (e-sign) inside Vertical 5. E-sign audit trails are vendor-attested. Independent seal at “complete” is the first-mover differentiator against DocuSign/Dropbox Sign and a reason Filevine would OEM you.
- Zapier role: Small zap count; highest OEM strategic value in the Filevine family. Prefer native webhook over Zapier for custody.
18. Legito
- Parent / owner: Independent. Founder/CEO Ondrej Materna.
- Website: https://legito.com
- Zap count: 2 (rank ~9472)
- USP: No-code smart document workspace — automation + lifecycle + e-sign + internal apps — for legal, compliance, HR, procurement, sales. More CLM/doc-gen than PMS.
- ICP: Mid-market corporate legal/ops in EU and US; some law firms. Not a US case-management buyer.
- HQ / founding / funding: Brno, Czech Republic (also lists New York). Founded 2014. Seed-scale: WeXelerate, JIC, VentureOut. Amounts Unknown (small).
- Pricing posture: Mid-market quote. Competes with Templafy / HotDocs / Gavel on automation, not with Clio on matters.
- Record held: Generated contracts and approved versions — the “this is the template output we sent.”
- Why independent proof matters: Document-generation is the ideal seal moment (Vertical 11). Version-of-record for policies and generated agreements.
- Zapier role: Negligible distribution (2 zaps). OEM/API only if EU document-automation thesis is in scope.
19. Gavel
- Parent / owner: Relativity (Chicago e-discovery / legal data intelligence). Acquired 12 Jun 2026 (terms undisclosed). Founder Dorna Moini (formerly Documate).
- Website: https://www.gavel.io
- Zap count: 76 (rank ~1238)
- USP: No-code legal document automation + expert workflows; newer Gavel Exec AI contract review/redline in Word. “Turn intake into finished documents.”
- ICP: Law firms productizing services (estate, immigration, PI intake docs) and, post-acquisition, RelativityOne litigation teams who draft in Word off the evidence corpus.
- HQ / founding / funding: Los Angeles, CA. Founded as Documate ~2018–2019; rebranded Gavel 2023. Venture-backed (amounts Unknown in public recap); exit to Relativity 2026. ~2,000 legal orgs claimed pre-deal.
- Pricing posture: Was mid-market SaaS (workflows + Exec SKUs). Now will skew Relativity enterprise packaging.
- Record held: Generated work product and AI-redlined contracts. Post-Relativity: a bridge between evidence store and filed/sent document.
- Why independent proof matters: AI-assisted drafts have an authenticity problem. Sealing the final sent version (and optionally the playbook applied) is the only way a court can distinguish human-approved output from later edits.
- Zapier role: 76 zaps = real SMB automation base. Strategic path is Relativity OEM, not Zapier — but existing Zaps remain a land-in for sealing generated PDFs.
Vertical 6 — Insurance & Claims (16)
Why independent cryptographic proof matters. Applications, ACORD forms, dec pages, recorded statements, contents inventories, photos, and claim notes are reconstructed in coverage litigation, SIU, E&O, and DOI exams. Carriers and opposing experts attack “this photo/note was added after the loss.” Agency CRMs attest their own pipelines; restoration apps attest their own photos. Independent seal at capture/submit is the claim-file equivalent of a notary.
Catalis note: Low direct conflict. Insurance tools do not run county land records. Indirect overlap only where a dec page or mortgagee clause is later used in a title/closing file.
20. AgencyZoom
- Parent / owner: Vertafore (acquired Nov 2021) → Roper Technologies (NYSE: ROP).
- Website: https://www.agencyzoom.com
- Zap count: 1,395 (rank ~202)
- USP: Sales + automation CRM purpose-built for P&C independent agents — pipelines, texts, reviews, renewals. Sits on top of an AMS.
- ICP: US independent P&C agencies and some captive (Allstate/Farmers SKUs on pricing page).
- HQ / founding / funding: Columbus, OH. Founded ~2010s. Acquired 2021 (undisclosed). Now a Roper/Vertafore product.
- Pricing posture: Agency-level SaaS, not per-user legal pricing. Public: Growth ~$199/mo, Pro ~$349/mo, lower Independent tier ~$149/mo; annual −20%. Enterprise/captive quote.
- Record held: Prospect/insured timeline, quotes pitched, bind tasks, renewal outreach, call/text logs — the sales and service chronology, not the policy admin of record (that’s the AMS).
- Why independent proof matters: E&O claims (“we never offered flood / we weren’t told about the dog”) are won or lost on this timeline. Sealing the outbound offer and the client’s recorded answers matters more than sealing the AMS policy row.
- Zapier role: Highest insurance zap count. Best distribution in V6. Zap: opportunity won / note logged / document attached → seal. Procurement will eventually route through Vertafore/Roper.
21. EZLynx
- Parent / owner: Applied Systems (Hellman & Friedman). Acquired Jan 2021 (announced as Applied acquiring EZLynx / Webcetera rating stack).
- Website: https://www.ezlynx.com
- Zap count: 464 (rank ~407)
- USP: Pioneer of personal-lines real-time comparative rating plus agency management. “Quote 7M+/month” scale pitch.
- ICP: US independent P&C agencies that live on personal-lines quoting speed.
- HQ / founding / funding: Originally Lewisville / Dallas area (Webcetera). Parent Applied: University Park, IL, founded 1980, H&F-owned (H&F bought Applied from Bain, 2014, ~$1.8B).
- Pricing posture: Module/quote. Third-party breakdowns: rating-only from ~$129/mo; typical agencies $178–$376/mo before add-ons; stacked life/benefits modules much higher. Not transparent.
- Record held: Quote snapshots, applications, comparative rater output, AMS policy/customer file (if they use EZLynx AMS).
- Why independent proof matters: The quote that was offered (limits, deductibles, carriers shown) is Exhibit A in E&O. Rating engines overwrite. Seal the quote PDF / dec of what was presented.
- Zapier role: Strong. Applied is a long sales cycle; Zapier is how SMB agencies already glue EZLynx to AgencyZoom/CRMs. Seal at “application submitted.”
22. AgencyBloc
- Parent / owner: Independent operating company; Resurgens Technology Partners (and historically Saratoga Partners). Not Zywave.
- Website: https://www.agencybloc.com
- Zap count: 248 (rank ~625)
- USP: AMS + CRM + commissions for life, health, senior, and benefits agencies. Acquired FormFire (small-group quoting) and Radius.
- ICP: US L&H / benefits / senior-market agencies — not P&C (that’s AgencyZoom/EZLynx).
- HQ / founding / funding: Cedar Falls, IA. Founded 2008/2009 (Adam Lewis & co.). PE-backed; deal values Unknown.
- Pricing posture: Mid-market AMS, quote by book size / users. Higher switching cost than a CRM.
- Record held: Policies in force, beneficiaries, commissions, HIPAA-adjacent client data, FormFire group quotes, replacement/suitability trails.
- Why independent proof matters: Suitability, replacement, and commission disputes. NAIC/DOI exams ask “what was recommended when.” Seal applications and suitability forms.
- Zapier role: Good L&H wedge. 248 zaps. PE (Resurgens) is a conceivable OEM if you speak commissions + compliance.
23. Nowcerts (Momentum AMS)
- Parent / owner: Independent (NowCerts / Momentum AMP). CEO Peter Germanov; co-founders include Zhulien Kasnedelchev, Vladimir Vladimirov. President Michael Lebor (joined ~2023). Acquired CRM 20 Miles (2024).
- Website: https://www.nowcerts.com
- Zap count: 0 (listed; no reported usage)
- USP: Modern, lower-cost open AMS for independent agencies; carrier download; “best and most affordable AMS” positioning vs Applied/Vertafore.
- ICP: Cost-conscious US P&C (and mixed) independents leaving TAM / AMS360.
- HQ / founding / funding: US (team historically Southeast / distributed). Founded 2012. Unfunded / bootstrapped per Tracxn. Acquirer of others, not acquired.
- Pricing posture: Value, published: Essentials $99/mo, Professional $169/mo, Business $349/mo, Enterprise quote.
- Record held: Full AMS file — clients, policies, endorsements, claims notes, commissions.
- Why independent proof matters: Same AMS system-of-record thesis as Vertafore, at a buyer who cannot afford Vertafore’s security SKU. Seal policy change and claim-note events.
- Zapier role: Connector exists but 0 zaps — either new, broken, or unused. Validate the integration before promising a Zap motion. API/OEM may be easier with this independent vendor.
24. Vertafore
- Parent / owner: Roper Technologies (acquired 2020 for ~$5.35B from Bain + Vista).
- Website: https://www.vertafore.com
- Zap count: 0 (listed; no reported usage)
- USP: Incumbent insurance software for agencies, MGAs, and carriers — AMS360, Sagitta, ImageRight, rating, AgencyZoom, etc. “Connected modern agency.”
- ICP: Mid-to-large US agencies, MGAs, carriers. Enterprise IT.
- HQ / founding / funding: Denver, CO. Long history (decades). Now a Roper vertical-software company — no venture funding.
- Pricing posture: Enterprise contract. High ACV, professional services, multi-year.
- Record held: The industry’s policy admin / document archive (ImageRight) and agency books. Closest thing to a system of record for independent-agent America.
- Why independent proof matters: ImageRight is “the file,” but it is Vertafore-attested. Coverage litigation and agency E&O still need third-party integrity. Hardest sale (incumbent + Roper), highest legitimacy if you land it.
- Zapier role: 0 zaps — this is not a Zapier-native buyer. Enterprise API/OEM only. AgencyZoom (same parent, 1,395 zaps) is the side door.
25. Encircle
- Parent / owner: Independent. Founders Christophe Biocca & Ronuk Raval.
- Website: https://www.encircleapp.com / https://www.getencircle.com
- Zap count: 193 (rank ~743)
- USP: Mobile field documentation for insurance restoration — photos, rooms, contents, sketches, now ROM estimating via The Edge acquisition (Nov 2025).
- ICP: Restoration contractors (water/fire/mold) and the carriers/TPAs who consume their files. ~3,000+ restoration businesses claimed.
- HQ / founding / funding: Kitchener, Ontario. Founded 2012. Small raise (~$1.6M PitchBook) / largely bootstrapped; GetLatka estimates ~$10M ARR without VC. Acquirer, not acquired.
- Pricing posture: Per-seat / per-location restoration SaaS; public pricing page, quote for scale. Mid-market.
- Record held: Loss-site evidence — timestamped photos, contents inventories, moisture logs, estimates. This is the claim file’s factual core.
- Why independent proof matters: Strongest V6 fit and overlaps Vertical 3 (field evidence). Carriers cut estimates by attacking photos and scope dates. Encircle already sells “defensible documentation”; they cannot independently prove it. Seal at photo/job-close.
- Zapier role: 193 zaps. Restoration stacks already Zap into Xactimate/accounting. High-priority design partner.
26. Canopy Connect
- Parent / owner: Independent. Insurance data infrastructure.
- Website: https://usecanopy.com
- Zap count: 221 (rank ~675)
- USP: Consumer-permissioned 1-click dec page / policy data pull from carriers (DecSight). Agents and advisors stop chasing PDFs.
- ICP: US P&C agencies, wealth/RIA insurance reviews, embedded insurance, landlords/fintechs via API.
- HQ / founding / funding: Remote-first; offices cited San Francisco and Beaverton, OR. Founded 2020. ~$6.5–7M (Series A led by Nevcaut; Elefund, Nimble, LocalGlobe, 9Yards).
- Pricing posture: Usage / API + agent dashboard. Quote. Infrastructure pricing, not $99 AMS.
- Record held: Retrieved declaration pages and structured policy data (limits, deductibles, premiums, mortgagee) as of pull time.
- Why independent proof matters: The dec page is the artifact title, mortgage, and claims all rely on. “This is the dec we pulled on date T from the carrier” is a verification claim. Today Canopy attests its own pull. Seal the raw dec + parsed JSON.
- Zapier role: 221 zaps — already the glue into CRMs/AMS. Ideal Zap: dec received → seal → AgencyZoom/EZLynx.
- Channel-conflict risk: Low with Catalis. Dec pages feed closings but Canopy is not a recorder.
27. SALT
- Parent / owner: SALT Insure, Inc. Independent.
- Website: https://saltinsure.com
- Zap count: 50 (rank ~1564)
- USP: Branded digital personal-lines application for independent agents — intake, current-policy pull, handoff to raters (incl. EZLynx). IIAT-endorsed.
- ICP: US personal-lines independents (TX-heavy), especially those drowning in PDFs.
- HQ / founding / funding: Grapevine, TX. Founded 2021. $2M Series A (May 2022, Eagle Venture Fund); total ~$2.25M.
- Pricing posture: Agency subscription; association discounts (IIAT 15%, Catalyit 10%). SMB.
- Record held: Client-completed applications and disclosed prior-policy data — the application of record before the rater.
- Why independent proof matters: Misrepresentation and E&O start at the app. Seal the submitted application as the client completed it.
- Zapier role: 50 zaps. Natural seal-on-submit Zap into EZLynx/AgencyZoom.
28. MC Professional
- Parent / owner: Personify (acquired MemberClicks 2020) → Momentive Software acquired Personify (Jan 2026). Product also sold as MemberClicks Professional.
- Website: https://personifycorp.com / https://memberclicks.com/products/professional/
- Zap count: 40 (rank ~1733)
- USP: Association / membership AMS (dues, events, members) — not insurance. Misclassified in the insurance vertical.
- ICP: Small/emerging professional associations, nonprofits, chapters.
- HQ / founding / funding: Atlanta, GA (MemberClicks heritage); Personify also Indianapolis / Vancouver BC. PE-owned via Momentive.
- Pricing posture: Association SaaS from ~$4,500/year.
- Record held: Membership rolls, dues payments, event registrations — not policies or claims.
- Why independent proof matters: Weak for this thesis (maybe membership vote / consent records). Do not prioritize in insurance GTM.
- Zapier role: Ignore for Vertical 6 targeting.
29. Wunderite
- Parent / owner: Independent. Co-founders Peter MacDonald (CEO) & Joe Schnare (COO).
- Website: https://wunderite.com
- Zap count: 31 (rank ~1991)
- USP: Collaborative, client-facing commercial (and personal) insurance application workspace — replace email/PDF ACORDs.
- ICP: Independent agencies and brokers doing commercial submissions.
- HQ / founding / funding: Boston, MA. Founded 2018/2019. $3M seed (Apr 2021) led by Spark Capital; also AIX, Correlation, a16z-adjacent mentions in some directories — treat Spark $3M as confirmed, later rounds Unknown.
- Pricing posture: Mid-market agency SaaS, demo/quote.
- Record held: Completed ACORD-like applications, schedules of values, loss-run uploads, client attestations.
- Why independent proof matters: Commercial submissions become the application warranty. Seal the client-approved application package at submit-to-market.
- Zapier role: 31 zaps. Good design partner; AMS/rater handoff is the Zap.
30. RiskAdvisor
- Parent / owner: Independent. Founder/CEO David Watson.
- Website: https://riskadvisor.insure
- Zap count: 30 (rank ~2010)
- USP: Agent-facing digital discovery / risk questionnaire so any VA or producer collects the same complete personal-lines facts.
- ICP: US personal-lines independents (auto/home/umbrella) and light small commercial.
- HQ / founding / funding: US. Founded ~late 2010s. Funding Unknown (appears bootstrapped).
- Pricing posture: SMB subscription; public pricing page (quote/tiers). Positioned as ROI-positive intake, not enterprise AMS.
- Record held: Structured risk-discovery answers — the “we asked about the trampoline / the teen driver” record.
- Why independent proof matters: Pure E&O evidence. Seal the completed discovery form.
- Zapier role: 30 zaps. Zap: form complete → seal → rater/CRM.
31. Insurgo
- Parent / owner: BID Equity Fund III (acquired Insurgo GmbH; PE). CEO Yannick Robin Leippold.
- Website: https://www.insurgo.de
- Zap count: 29 (rank ~2038)
- USP: Cloud broker management (German/EU Maklerverwaltungsprogramm) — digitized brokerage OS for DACH insurance brokers.
- ICP: German / DACH insurance and financial brokers, not US P&C agencies.
- HQ / founding / funding: Berlin, Germany (Französische Str. 20). Founded 2016. PE-backed (BID Equity); terms Unknown.
- Pricing posture: EU broker SaaS, quote. Mid-market.
- Record held: EU broker customer file, policies, advice documentation (Beratungsdokumentation — legally required in DE).
- Why independent proof matters: German advice-documentation duties are statutory. Vendor-attested logs are a known weakness in disputes with BaFin/customers. GDPR makes “where is the proof stored” a design issue (EU timestamping).
- Zapier role: 29 zaps. Only pursue if DACH is in-scope. Different legal regime than US claim files.
32. Apizeal
- Parent / owner: Independent. Founder/CEO Joel Martinez.
- Website: https://apizeal.com
- Zap count: 25 (rank ~2202)
- USP: L&H / ACA agency management with integrated Health Marketplace quoter; bilingual (strong Hispanic-agent market).
- ICP: US health/life agencies, IMO downlines, ACA producers.
- HQ / founding / funding: US (Hispanic insurance-tech). Funding Unknown.
- Pricing posture: SMB AMS/CRM, demo/quote.
- Record held: Health/life policies, consent forms, commissions, marketplace quotes, client consents.
- Why independent proof matters: ACA/consent and replacement documentation. Seal consent + application.
- Zapier role: Niche. 25 zaps. Only if L&H/ACA is a wedge.
33. JenesisNow
- Parent / owner: Jenesis Software. Independent. Founder Eddie Price.
- Website: https://www.jenesissoftware.com
- Zap count: 20 (rank ~2454)
- USP: Affordable, easy AMS/CRM for small US agencies — “phone and web, just works.”
- ICP: Very small independents, often rural/Southeast, who will never buy Applied.
- HQ / founding / funding: Forest City / western North Carolina (phone 828-245-1171). Long-running private company. Funding Unknown / bootstrapped.
- Pricing posture: Value / low. Classic SMB AMS pricing (quote; historically cheap vs Applied).
- Record held: Small-agency policy/client file and notes.
- Why independent proof matters: Same E&O chronology, tiniest IT shop — Zap-only motion.
- Zapier role: 20 zaps. Low priority except geographic clustering.
34. NextAgency
- Parent / owner: Take 44, Inc. Independent. Co-founders Alan Katz and Mike Tomlinson (insurance veterans).
- Website: https://nextagency.com (Zapier still lists http://www.take44.com)
- Zap count: 13 (rank ~2897)
- USP: AMS + CRM for health, life, and senior agencies; NextCommission add-on.
- ICP: US L&H / senior / benefits shops (same pond as AgencyBloc, smaller).
- HQ / founding / funding: Simi Valley, CA. Founded 2015. Privately owned; no PE/VC found.
- Pricing posture: SMB quote. Competes on simplicity vs AgencyBloc.
- Record held: L&H policies, commissions, client service log.
- Why independent proof matters: Same suitability/commission story as AgencyBloc, smaller vendor attestation.
- Zapier role: 13 zaps. Low unless an AgencyBloc-competitive L&H bundle.
35. InsurGrid
- Parent / owner: Helium Ventures (acquired Jan 2026). Operating CEO Rohit Mittal (acquired prior leadership; founded after selling Stilt). Original pre-seed CEO Chase Beach. Co-founder/CTO Priyank Singh.
- Website: https://insurgrid.com
- Zap count: 8 (rank ~3461)
- USP: Hub to collect and verify policy data (dec refresh, ACORD gen, landlord COI, AI workflows) — similar thesis to Canopy, more agent-workflow/AI.
- ICP: US P&C agents; landlords needing COI verification; premium-finance embeds.
- HQ / founding / funding: San Francisco (2261 Market St). Pre-seed 2021 (TechCrunch). Later funding Unknown. Acquired 2026 (terms Unknown).
- Pricing posture: Freemium / agent SaaS + API. “2,500+ agents” marketing.
- Record held: Verified policy data, generated ACORDs, landlord COIs — proof-of-insurance artifacts.
- Why independent proof matters: Landlord/lender “show me you are insured” is a third-party trust problem. Sealing the verification snapshot is the product. Competes with Canopy on the same record type.
- Zapier role: 8 zaps. Prefer API. Catalis adjacency: low–medium if COIs feed closing packages; still not a recorder.
Vertical 9 — Property, Title & Mortgage (17)
Catalis channel-conflict rule of thumb
Catalis sells government courts, land records, e-recording, official-records, tax/CAMA, and payments to counties/municipalities. Conflict is real when a Zapier vendor:
- Authors or stores instruments that get recorded (deeds, mortgages, releases) and you would sell “seal the recorded package” into the same county/title officers Catalis already owns; or
- Competes as a land-records / e-recording / official-records system.
| Conflict | Vendors | Guidance |
|---|---|---|
| High | Dotloop (executed purchase/closing docs), Paperless Pipeline (transaction + commission file), Finmo & BrokerEngine (mortgage application → submission packages), Surefire (mortgage CRM sitting on ICE/Encompass stack), VaultRE / MRI (agency trust + sales file in AU, MRI is enterprise proptech) | Sell to broker/lender, not to county recorder. Do not pitch “replace official records.” Seal the private transaction file. Coordinate any county/title talk with Catalis relationship owners. |
| Medium | LEAP conveyancing (V5), AFrame, Property Inspect, InventoryBase, RentCheck, Tenant Turner (lease/condition), Hostaway (STR occupancy/owner statements) | Condition reports and leases are provenance problems but are not official title. Low Catalis overlap if you stay on PM/inspector/STR buyers. |
| Low / none | Follow Up Boss, kvCORE, LeadSimple, myHomeIQ, Credit Repair Cloud | CRM/lead/credit tools. No title record. Safe to pursue. |
36. Dotloop
- Parent / owner: Zillow Group (acquired 2015).
- Website: https://dotloop.com
- Zap count: 204 (rank ~717)
- USP: Real-estate transaction management + e-sign — the loop is the deal file (offer, disclosures, amendments, closing docs).
- ICP: US agents, teams, brokerages (often Zillow Premier Agent adjacent).
- HQ / founding / funding: Product originated Cincinnati. Parent Seattle (Zillow). No standalone funding.
- Pricing posture: Freemium / brokerage-licensed / bundled with Zillow relationships. Not a clean published per-seat leader. Switching cost is the loop archive.
- Record held: The executed transaction file — purchase agreement, disclosures, amendments, signatures. These documents become the private-contract foundation of title.
- Why independent proof matters: “Which version of the addendum was signed when” is the classic RE dispute. Dotloop’s certificate is Zillow-attested. Independent seal at loop-complete is Vertical 1 + Vertical 9.
- Zapier role: 204 zaps. Zap: loop closed / document completed → seal. High Catalis conflict if sold to recorders/title plants; low if sold only to brokerages as E&O.
- Channel-conflict risk: High (instrument authorship + Zillow gravity). Stay on brokerage E&O, not county go-to-market.
37. Follow Up Boss
- Parent / owner: Zillow Group. Announced Nov 2023; closed Dec 2023. $400M cash + up to $100M earnout.
- Website: https://www.followupboss.com
- Zap count: 7,342 (rank ~80) — highest on this entire three-vertical file
- USP: Dead-simple speed-to-lead CRM for RE agents/teams. Ingests portal leads, assigns, texts, pipelines to close.
- ICP: US residential agents, teams, brokerages drowning in Zillow/Realtor.com/Facebook leads.
- HQ / founding / funding: Founded ~2011. Independent until Zillow 2023. HQ historically not emphasized (distributed); parent Seattle.
- Pricing posture: Mid CRM SaaS per user (published on site; team plans). Value is lead response, not compliance.
- Record held: Lead source, first-touch time, call/text log, deal stage — not the legal transaction file.
- Why independent proof matters: Weaker than Dotloop. Possible use: fair-housing / steering and “we never got the lead” disputes; generally low-value records. Not a proof priority except first-touch timestamp in advertising-rule fights.
- Zapier role: Massive distribution. Use as top-of-funnel, not as the record to seal. A FUB Zap can fan into Dotloop/AFrame where the real file lives.
- Channel-conflict risk: Low.
38. kvCORE (Inside Real Estate)
- Parent / owner: Inside Real Estate (InsideRE Holdings). Lovell Minnick Partners majority (acquired from NexPhase, Aug 2019).
- Website: https://www.insiderealestate.com (product kvCORE)
- Zap count: 2,525 (rank ~143)
- USP: All-in-one brokerage OS — IDX/websites, CRM, marketing automation, lead routing for brokers, teams, and agents.
- ICP: US residential brokerages and large teams that want one vendor for web + CRM.
- HQ / founding / funding: Utah (Lehi / Salt Lake tech corridor). PE-backed since 2019; earlier NexPhase. Deal values Unknown.
- Pricing posture: Brokerage contract, high five to six figures for big flags. Not SMB self-serve.
- Record held: Leads, marketing consents, websites, some transaction pointers. Heavier CRM than system of title.
- Why independent proof matters: Thin (similar to FUB). Consent/opt-in and lead-routing logs for TCPA/fair-housing. Do not position as title proof.
- Zapier role: Huge volume (2,525). Integration fabric for brokerages. Seal only if they also dump documents into the Zap.
- Channel-conflict risk: Low.
39. LeadSimple
- Parent / owner: Independent. Founders Christopher Berkompas & Jordan Muela (Muela now chairman; new CEO).
- Website: https://www.leadsimple.com
- Zap count: 442 (rank ~424)
- USP: CRM + inbox/phone + operations workflows for residential property managers — owner-lead → door → resident comms.
- ICP: US 3rd-party residential PMs (dozens to a few thousand doors).
- HQ / founding / funding: Vancouver, WA. Founded 2011. Light/unknown institutional funding (Tracxn “funded”; amounts Unknown).
- Pricing posture: Mid SMB SaaS, modular (CRM / Phone+Inbox / Ops / Maintenance). Quote by doors/users.
- Record held: Owner and resident communications, work-order/maintenance timeline, leasing pipeline. Service chronology, not title.
- Why independent proof matters: Security-deposit and habitability fights turn on “what did we tell the resident when.” Seal notices and work-order completions.
- Zapier role: 442 zaps. Core PM stack glue (AppFolio/Buildium/Rent Manager). Good design partner.
- Channel-conflict risk: Low.
40. Finmo (Lendesk)
- Parent / owner: Lendesk (Vancouver), a Rocket Companies subsidiary (Rocket acquired Lendesk 2019). Lendesk acquired Finmo Oct 2020 (founders Greg Williamson, Carter Zimmerman).
- Website: https://www.lendesk.com/finmo
- Zap count: 258 (rank ~604)
- USP: End-to-end Canadian mortgage broker origination — application → submission to lenders, checks, visibility.
- ICP: Canadian mortgage brokers, brokerages, and (Lendesk) lenders/FIs.
- HQ / founding / funding: Vancouver, BC. Finmo founded ~2010s; now Rocket (NYSE: RKT) family. Standalone funding N/A.
- Pricing posture: Broker/brokerage SaaS, quote; often bundled via aggregator/lender relationships.
- Record held: Mortgage application, income/asset docs, submission package, lender conditions — the origination file.
- Why independent proof matters: Mortgage fraud, suitability, and “what was submitted to the lender” disputes. Seal the submitted application package. Canadian regulatory overlay (OSFI/provincial).
- Zapier role: 258 zaps. Seal-on-submit is clean.
- Channel-conflict risk: High if pitched into US/CA title/closing plants or recorders. Low–medium if strictly broker compliance inside Canada. Rocket is a strategic, not a Zap-sized, conversation.
41. BrokerEngine
- Parent / owner: Australian Finance Group (AFG). AFG took 70% in 2021 and 100% by 2023/2024. Founders Craig Vaughan & Will Swayne.
- Website: https://brokerengine.com.au (Zapier app URL is app.brokerengine.com.au)
- Zap count: 217 (rank ~685)
- USP: AU mortgage-broker OS — docs, workflows, loan tracking, CX. “Built by a broker.” AFG also launched BrokerEngine Plus for its 4,000+ brokers.
- ICP: Australian mortgage brokers (independent + AFG network).
- HQ / founding / funding: Bowen Hills / Brisbane, QLD. Founded 2016. Now owned by listed aggregator AFG (not VC).
- Pricing posture: AU broker SaaS + captive Plus SKU for AFG. Quote.
- Record held: Same class as Finmo, Australian regime — application, supporting docs, aggregator submission.
- Why independent proof matters: ASIC/aggregator audits and borrower disputes. Seal submitted pack.
- Zapier role: 217 zaps — surprisingly high for AU. Good regional design partner.
- Channel-conflict risk: High on settlement/title docs; low on broker-only compliance. AU land-titles offices are Catalis-adjacent in category, not in account.
42. AFrame
- Parent / owner: AFrameSoftware, LLC. Independent.
- Website: https://www.aframesoftware.com
- Zap count: 184 (rank ~770)
- USP: Combined transaction coordinator software + CRM for agents, TCs, and small brokerages. Checklists, parties, docs, GCI tracking.
- ICP: US TCs (outsourced and in-house), small teams, brokerages that find Dotloop/SkySlope heavy or expensive.
- HQ / founding / funding: Dallas, TX area (Facebook/local presence). Funding Unknown / bootstrapped.
- Pricing posture: Value published from ~$54/user/mo (some comps cite ~$29). SMB.
- Record held: Transaction checklist + documents + party comms — a lighter Dotloop. Includes contract docs that feed title.
- Why independent proof matters: TC shops are sued when dates/docs slip. Seal “contract executed / clear-to-close checklist complete.”
- Zapier role: 184 zaps. Eager SMB partner.
- Channel-conflict risk: Medium. Same instrument class as Dotloop, smaller footprint, no Zillow. Broker/TC sale is fine.
43. Surefire CRM
- Parent / owner: ICE Mortgage Technology (Intercontinental Exchange), via Top of Mind Networks / Black Knight lineage. Surefire is the mortgage CRM on the Encompass/ICE stack.
- Website: Product: https://www.topofmind.com and https://mortgagetech.ice.com/products/surefire-mortgage-crm — Zapier still points at
https://sf3.tomnx.com - Zap count: 104 (rank ~1073)
- USP: “#1 most-used mortgage CRM” — borrower nurture from lead through closing and past-customer marketing, tightly coupled to LOS.
- ICP: US lenders, mortgage bankers, and brokers on Encompass/ICE.
- HQ / founding / funding: Top of Mind historically Atlanta. Parent ICE (NYSE: ICE) after Black Knight deal. No standalone raise.
- Pricing posture: Enterprise/lender contract. High ACV, IT-approved.
- Record held: Borrower marketing + communication timeline sitting next to the LOS file. The LOS (Encompass) is the legal origination record; Surefire is the comms record.
- Why independent proof matters: UDAAP/marketing and “we disclosed X” fights. Secondary to sealing the LOS closing package (not on this Zapier list).
- Zapier role: 104 zaps. Enterprise procurement via ICE — slow. Zapier is how smaller shops connect Surefire to point-of-sale tools.
- Channel-conflict risk: High near closing disclosure packages; low if you only seal marketing consents. ICE is a potential OEM or a conflict if Catalis-adjacent title plants sit in the same closing table.
44. Tenant Turner
- Parent / owner: PropertyTek, a Greater Sum Ventures (GSV) holding company (quietly acquired Tenant Turner and ShowMojo ~2024). Founders no longer involved (trade press).
- Website: https://tenantturner.com
- Zap count: 54 (rank ~1505)
- USP: Leasing automation for PMs — lead qualify, showing scheduling, self-show, listing syndication. Deep AppFolio/Buildium integrations.
- ICP: US residential PMs (especially AppFolio shops).
- HQ / founding / funding: Richmond, VA. PE-owned 2024+. Terms Unknown. Third-party ARR estimates ~$2.4M (unverified).
- Pricing posture: Per-unit / per-property leasing SaaS. Mid SMB.
- Record held: Showing logs, applications routed, lockbox/self-show events — leasing process evidence, not the signed lease of record (that lives in the PMS).
- Why independent proof matters: Fair-housing (who got which showing, when) and “the unit was already rented” disputes. Seal showing + application-received events.
- Zapier role: 54 zaps. Zap into AppFolio/LeadSimple.
- Channel-conflict risk: Medium only if you wander into lease-record / official habitability filings. Core product is scheduling.
45. Paperless Pipeline
- Parent / owner: Independent. Founder Dane Maxwell.
- Website: https://www.paperlesspipeline.com
- Zap count: 52 (rank ~1538)
- USP: Simple transaction + commission system for brokerages — unlimited users, flat price, no contract. Checklists, docs, 1099s.
- ICP: US independent brokerages and teams that reject SkySlope complexity.
- HQ / founding / funding: Dexter, IA. Founded 2009. Bootstrapped. No PE/VC found.
- Pricing posture: Flat brokerage fee (third-party cites ~$75; site emphasizes unlimited users / no contracts). Value.
- Record held: Full brokerage transaction file + commission ledger. Compliance checklists for state real-estate commissions.
- Why independent proof matters: Commission disputes and regulator file reviews. Seal closed-file snapshot + commission worksheet.
- Zapier role: 52 zaps. Independent founder = fast design partner.
- Channel-conflict risk: High on the document file (same class as Dotloop); low on commission-only sealing. Do not sell to county recorders.
46. VaultRE (MRI Vault)
- Parent / owner: MRI Software, LLC. Product now marketed as MRI Vault (login.vaultre.com.au copyright MRI Software).
- Website: https://www.vaultre.com.au (MRI: https://www.mrisoftware.com/au/products/vault/)
- Zap count: 49 (rank ~1584)
- USP: AU real-estate sales + listings + property management + trust accounting in one agency platform.
- ICP: Australian (and some NZ) sales/PM agencies wanting fewer point solutions.
- HQ / founding / funding: Australia (product). Parent MRI: large global CRE software (US HQ Cleveland area). MRI is PE-backed enterprise (GI Partners / others historically). Exact MRI current sponsor: treat as enterprise PE / MRI.
- Pricing posture: Agency contract, AU mid-market to enterprise. Quote.
- Record held: Listings, sales files, PM trust accounts, owner ledgers — trust money + transaction docs. AU trust accounting is statutory.
- Why independent proof matters: Trust-account audits and sales-advice disputes. MRI-attested trust ledger has the same weakness as CosmoLex.
- Zapier role: 49 zaps. MRI enterprise cycle for OEM; Zapier for mid agencies.
- Channel-conflict risk: High. MRI is in the same “property system of record” conversation as Catalis’s land/tax adjacency internationally. Coordinate before any MRI or AU titles-office motion.
47. Property Inspect
- Parent / owner: Radweb / InventoryBase Ltd (same company as InventoryBase). CEO & co-founder Steve Rad; CTO James Taylor.
- Website: https://propertyinspect.com
- Zap count: 4 (rank ~4299)

- Pricing posture: Per-report / per-user SMB-to-mid. Quote.
- Record held: Inspection reports with photos — condition at a date. Deposit and disrepair evidence.
- Why independent proof matters: Classic Vertical 3 + 9. “The mold was / wasn’t there at move-in.” Vendor-attested photos lose in court; independent seal of report+images is the sale.
- Zapier role: 4 zaps — almost unused. Treat as API/OEM with Radweb, one conversation covering #47 and #51.
- Channel-conflict risk: Medium (condition evidence, not title). Safe vs Catalis if sold to PMs/inspectors.
48. Hostaway
- Parent / owner: Independent (founder-controlled with PE). Co-founders Marcus Räder (CEO), Saber Kordestanchi, Mikko Nurminen.
- Website: https://www.hostaway.com
- Zap count: 567 (rank ~364)
- USP: All-in-one short-term rental PMS + channel manager (Airbnb/Vrbo/Booking) — inbox, pricing, owner portal, AI co-host.
- ICP: Professional STR managers (tens to thousands of listings) worldwide.
- HQ / founding / funding: Helsinki, Finland (also Toronto ops). Founded 2015. PSG $175M then General Atlantic-led $365M (Dec 2024) at
$925M; later coverage of **$1B unicorn** (2025). Tracxn total funding ~$543M. - Pricing posture: Mid-to-premium per-listing SaaS. Scale pricing, quote for large managers.
- Record held: Reservations, guest comms, owner statements, house rules acknowledgements, sometimes inspection/cleaning logs.
- Why independent proof matters: Guest injury, deposit, occupancy-tax, and owner-remittance disputes. Seal owner statements and incident-related message threads. Lower legal intensity than title/claims.
- Zapier role: 567 zaps — largest STR distribution on the list. Easy Zap experiments; GA/PSG parent = serious OEM if STR proof becomes a category.
- Channel-conflict risk: Low–medium (occupancy/tax, not land records).
49. Credit Repair Cloud
- Parent / owner: Daniel A. Rosen Inc. d/b/a Credit Repair Cloud. Founder Daniel Rosen; CEO/VP Product Keenan Jones (team page).
- Website: https://www.creditrepaircloud.com
- Zap count: 436 (rank ~428)
- USP: Software + training to run a credit-repair business (letters, CRM, payments). Also sold to mortgage brokers who “fix credit to close loans.”
- ICP: Credit-repair entrepreneurs; some mortgage shops. Compliance cloud: CFPB action Aug 2024 — proposed $3M penalties ($2M Rosen / $1M company) for substantially assisting illegal advance-fee credit-repair shops.
- HQ / founding / funding: California. Founded 2012/2013. Bootstrapped (GetLatka ~$2M ARR estimate, unverified).
- Pricing posture: SMB SaaS + education upsells. Mid monthly.
- Record held: Client authorizations, dispute letters, Metro-2/credit-report snapshots, payment authorizations.
- Why independent proof matters: Ironic fit — the industry has an authenticity and legality problem. Sealing consumer authorization + letter-sent time helps a compliant shop; it also could be marketed to bad actors. Reputational risk. Do not lead GTM here.
- Zapier role: 436 zaps is real distribution, but brand/CFPB risk is disqualifying for a proof company that will sit next to Catalis and ILTA buyers.
- Channel-conflict risk: None with Catalis. High reputational conflict with legal/insurance positioning.
50. myHomeIQ
- Parent / owner: Independent (sometimes listed as SOA Labs). Founders Alex Tkachuk, Oleg (last name Unknown in public recap).
- Website: https://myhomeiq.com
- Zap count: 72 (rank ~1270)
- USP: Homeowner equity / mortgage / home-services intelligence used by agents and loan officers to nurture “clients for life” and generate refinance/list leads.
- ICP: US loan officers and real-estate agents doing partnership marketing.
- HQ / founding / funding: US. Funding Unknown.
- Pricing posture: Marketing SaaS, quote / seat. Mid.
- Record held: Marketing touches and homeowner “IQ” snapshots — not loan files or title.
- Why independent proof matters: Minimal. Maybe TCPA consent. Not a proof vertical.
- Zapier role: 72 zaps as a lead pipe into FUB/kvCORE/Surefire. Do not seal.
- Channel-conflict risk: None.
51. InventoryBase
- Parent / owner: Same as Property Inspect — InventoryBase Ltd / Radweb. Founders Steve Rad & James Taylor.
- Website: https://inventorybase.co.uk
- Zap count: 18 (rank ~2518)
- USP: UK-standard property inventories, check-in/out, interim inspections, risk assessments. The domestic brand; Property Inspect is the export name.
- ICP: UK inventory clerks, letting agents, PMs, social housing.
- HQ / founding / funding: Portsmouth, UK. Inventory product ~2011–2012; company 10149118. Bootstrapped.
- Pricing posture: Per-report UK SaaS. Established, not cheap-and-new.
- Record held: Inventories that allocate deposit deductions — the UK’s canonical deposit-dispute evidence (TDS/DPS/MyDeposits).
- Why independent proof matters: Deposit schemes and First-tier Tribunal cases attack whether the inventory was contemporaneous. Seal report+photos at lock. Same product thesis as Property Inspect / RentCheck / Encircle.
- Zapier role: 18 zaps. One Radweb OEM covers UK+export.
- Channel-conflict risk: Medium (condition, not HM Land Registry). Safe vs Catalis.
52. RentCheck
- Parent / owner: Independent. Co-founders Marco Nelson (CEO) & Lydia Winkler (COO).
- Website: https://www.getrentcheck.com (Zapier: https://app.getrentcheck.com)
- Zap count: 19 (rank ~2475)
- USP: Resident-led move-in/out and routine inspections — guided phone photos, high completion rates, no scheduler required.
- ICP: US residential PMs (AppFolio/Buildium class) who cannot staff inspections.
- HQ / founding / funding: New Orleans, LA. Founded ~2019. Pre-seed + seed ~$2.6–$3.6M (2021). Later rounds Unknown.
- Pricing posture: Per-unit / per-inspection SaaS. SMB. Free trial.
- Record held: Tenant-captured condition photos and answers — security-deposit evidence generated by the resident.
- Why independent proof matters: The whole product is a contemporaneous condition record that will be attacked as “the tenant/app faked it.” Independent seal of each submitted inspection (hash of image set + answers + time) is the missing third party. Strongest V9 inspection story after Encircle-class tools.
- Zapier role: 19 zaps. Zap: inspection submitted → seal → PMS.
- Channel-conflict risk: Medium (habitability evidence). Not a title plant.
Cross-vertical observations
Best proof-fit (record will be attacked)
- ServeManager — affidavit of service
- Encircle / Property Inspect / InventoryBase / RentCheck — field condition & contents
- CASEpeer / Filevine / Vinesign — PI demands, medical files, releases
- Docketwise / CampLegal — USCIS packets
- CosmoLex / VaultRE — trust ledgers
- Canopy Connect / InsurGrid / SALT / Wunderite / RiskAdvisor — applications and dec pages
- Dotloop / Paperless Pipeline / AFrame / Finmo / BrokerEngine — executed closing / origination packs
Best Zapier distribution (ship a Zap first)
| App | Zaps | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Follow Up Boss | 7,342 | Ignore as record; use as pipe |
| kvCORE | 2,525 | Same |
| Clio | 2,025 | Lead legal Zap |
| AgencyZoom | 1,395 | Lead insurance Zap |
| Lawmatics | 813 | Intake seal |
| MyCase | 609 | SMB legal |
| Hostaway | 567 | STR experiments |
| EZLynx | 464 | Quote/app seal |
| LeadSimple | 442 | PM notices |
| Credit Repair Cloud | 436 | Skip (CFPB) |
Do not confuse these families
- MyCase ≠ Clio. MyCase / CASEpeer / Docketwise = 8am (TA Associates). Clio is a separate $5B company that bought vLex, not AffiniPay.
- PracticePanther ≠ 8am. PracticePanther = Paradigm / Francisco Partners. Payments may still ride LawPay rails.
- Property Inspect = InventoryBase. One UK company, two Zapier apps.
- MC Professional and Firm360 are not insurance or legal practice tools.
Catalis / municipal-title watchlist
Pursue on the private-party side (firm, agency, broker, PM, inspector). Pause and check channel conflict before any conversation with:
- County recorders, clerks of court, land-records vendors, e-recording networks
- Title plants / underwriters that Catalis already touches
- MRI / VaultRE, Dotloop/Zillow closing rooms, ICE/Surefire closing comms, Rocket/Finmo origination, AFG/BrokerEngine settlement packs
Safe greenfield next to Catalis: legal PMS (Clio/Filevine/8am), P&C agency CRMs, restoration (Encircle), resident/inspector condition apps, process servers.
