Verticals 1013 — Vendor Profiles

Research date: 2026-08-17. Sources: Zapier catalog (identified-vendors.json), vendor sites, company filings/press, Crunchbase/PitchBook/Tracxn summaries, and secondary reporting. Unknowns are marked Unknown.

Shared authenticity thesis

  • Meetings (10). AI transcripts and summaries are model-generated derivatives of audio. They are already used as evidence of what was said and agreed (sales disputes, employment, board minutes, regulated conversations). Vendor-hosted “the recording says…” is self-attested. SEC Rule 17a-4 (broker-dealer electronic records, WORM / non-rewriteable storage, third-party access) is the regulatory version of this problem; most AI notetakers do not sell 17a-4 preservation. CallCabinet (now Smarsh) is the exception on this list.
  • Document generation (11). These tools sit at the creation of an official-looking PDF (contract, invoice, proposal, certificate). That is the ideal sealing point. The file looks final; the only proof it existed then is the vendors log.
  • Credentials (12). The product is a third-party claim about a person. Verification today means “hit our server.” Independent proof is a product upgrade, not a feature add-on.
  • Forms (13). Highest volume, lowest value per record. Submissions are often the first contemporaneous statement (incident, application, attestation, field inspection). Best used as Zap top-of-funnel / free-tier acquisition, not as a paid vertical.

Zap counts are Zapier zap_usage_count from this research corpus.

Vertical 10 — Meeting & Call Recording / Transcription (24)

Competitive density: extreme. Category is commoditized around record → transcribe → summarize → CRM sync. Differentiation is now bot-free capture, enterprise security, or (Gong/Chorus) revenue intelligence. Nobody on the consumer/SMB notetaker list sells independent cryptographic authenticity of the audio or of the AI derivative. 17a-4 call-out: if a transcript is later treated as the official record of a customer conversation, FINRA/SEC firms already know vendor SaaS notes are not a compliant archive.

Fathom

Field Profile
Name Fathom (Fathom.ai / fathom.video)
Parent/owner Independent (Fathom Video / Fathom.ai). Founder-CEO Richard White (ex-UserVoice).
Website https://fathom.video · https://www.fathom.ai
Zap count 8,044 (rank ~72)
USP Highest-adoption AI meeting partner on this list. Captures Zoom/Meet/Teams, transcribes, summarizes, clips highlights, CRM sync. Strong free individual product; teams pay for shared library. Consistently #1 AI notetaker on G2.
ICP SMB and mid-market GTM / CS / product teams; individual AEs who then pull the team in. Bottom-up PLG.
HQ / founded / funding San Francisco. Founded Aug 2020 (YC W21). $17M Series A (Sep 2024) plus earlier seed ($4.7M, 2022) and WeFunder; total commonly cited ~$30M. Team ~9095. Reported ~$2530M ARR on a free-to-team motion.
Pricing posture Aggressive freemium. Individual use is free; paid Team/Business roughly $2030/seat/mo. Monetizes at 810 seats. Startup discounts.
Authenticity problem Core 17a-4 / AI-transcript problem. The “official” meeting record is an AI summary plus an editable transcript sitting on Fathoms servers. Audio can be clipped and shared out of context. No independent hash of raw audio or of the generated notes. Opposing counsel or a customer can credibly say the summary was regenerated later.
Zapier role Highest-volume meeting Zap on the list. Trigger: new recording / summary / action items → CRM, Slack, Notion, email. Natural “seal this transcript + audio pointer” action after New Meeting.

Otter.ai

Field Profile
Name Otter.ai (originally AISense)
Parent/owner Independent. Co-founders Sam Liang (CEO) and Yun Fu.
Website https://otter.ai
Zap count 2,961
USP Category creator of live AI meeting notes. Real-time transcript, OtterPilot bot, “Otter Meeting Agent,” searchable conversation archive. 30M+ users claimed; ~$100M ARR (2025 estimates).
ICP Knowledge workers, education (pandemic beachhead), SMB teams; pushing enterprise Meeting Agent.
HQ / founded / funding Mountain View / Los Altos, CA. Founded 2016. ~$7073M (seed Draper; Series A Horizons Ventures; NTT Docomo 2020; $50M Series B Spectrum Equity, Feb 2021). No later public primary.
Pricing posture Freemium with minute caps. Free ~300 min/mo; Pro ~$17/mo; Business/Enterprise seats. Minutes, not just seats, create upgrade pressure.
Authenticity problem Same as Fathom: live transcript is a model output, editable, and vendor-hosted. Otters brand as “what was said” is stronger because of live captions — which makes a later dispute worse. Education/HR use (class, interview) raises after-the-fact editing risk. Not a 17a-4 archive.
Zapier role New transcript / summary → docs, CRM, LMS. High consumer/SMB volume. Seal-on-finalize of the Otter export.

Fireflies.ai

Field Profile
Name Fireflies.ai
Parent/owner Independent. Co-founder/CEO Krish Ramineni (with Sam Udotong). Remote-first.
Website https://fireflies.ai
Zap count 2,603
USP Bot joins the call, unlimited transcription on free, conversation intelligence, custom topic trackers, 2B+ meeting minutes claimed. Reached $1B+ valuation via tender (Jun 2025) while remaining capital-efficient. Perplexity partnership for in-meeting search.
ICP Teams that want CI-lite without Gong prices; Fortune 500 users at the edge; SMB ops.
HQ / founded / funding San Francisco (remote-first, ~100 people / 20+ countries). Founded ~20162019 public era. $19M total (Canaan seed, $14M Series A Khosla 2021). Profitable growth story; $1B tender, not a new primary.
Pricing posture Free unlimited transcription, paid AI summaries / storage / CI. Business ~$1019/seat/mo annual; Enterprise private storage, no training on customer data.
Authenticity problem Bot-in-the-room recordings + AI notes used as the system of record for “commitments.” Topic trackers and soundbites can be cherry-picked. Private storage does not equal independent attestation. Same 17a-4 gap.
Zapier role New meeting / channel alert → HubSpot/Salesforce/Asana. High automation density. Seal the transcript artifact when Fireflies marks the meeting complete.

tl;dv

Field Profile
Name tl;dv
Parent/owner Independent. Co-founders Raphael Allstadt (CEO), Carlo Thissen (COO), Allan Bettarel (CTO).
Website https://tldv.io
Zap count 2,488
USP EU-hosted AI notetaker for Zoom/Meet/Teams. Record, transcribe, summarize, coach, CRM sync. GDPR / EU data residency / private-hosted AI on request. Capital-efficient European growth (Sifted 250).
ICP EU SMBs and mid-market sales/CS that need GDPR and no-US-cloud story.
HQ / founded / funding Aachen, Germany (remote ~60). Founded 2020 (LinkedIn says 2021). €4.3M seed (Jun 2022, ~$4.65.6M). Self-funded since; claimed eight-figure ARR and 2030% margins.
Pricing posture Freemium; paid team/business; EU-hosting as upsell. Cheaper than US CI suites.
Authenticity problem EU residency is privacy, not authenticity. Transcripts remain vendor-attested AI derivatives. Useful wedge: “GDPR + independent seal” for European regulated buyers.
Zapier role Same meeting-complete → CRM/Slack pattern. Strong EU Zap volume.

Krisp

Field Profile
Name Krisp (Krisp Technologies Inc.)
Parent/owner Independent. Co-founders Davit Baghdasaryan and Artavazd Minasyan.
Website https://krisp.ai
Zap count 970
USP Started as on-device noise cancellation; expanded into meeting transcription/notes. Different trust story: audio processed locally before it hits the notetaker.
ICP Remote workers and contact-center / noisy-environment users; teams already using Krisp for audio who then turn on notes.
HQ / founded / funding Founded 2017 Yerevan, Armenia; US base Berkeley, CA. ~$15.5M, Series A.
Pricing posture Freemium noise cancellation; Pro/Business for meeting notes and more hours. Dual SKU (audio utility + notes).
Authenticity problem Local noise suppression alters the audio before transcription. That is a chain-of-custody issue: the transcript is of a processed signal, not the raw room. If used as evidence, the defense is “Krisp filtered the audio, then an AI wrote the notes.”
Zapier role Transcript/notes out to productivity stack. Smaller Zap footprint than Fathom/Otter; audio-first install base.

Read AI

Field Profile
Name Read AI
Parent/owner Independent. CEO/co-founder David Shim (ex-Foursquare Swarm).
Website https://www.read.ai
Zap count 728
USP Meeting summaries plus cross-platform search and recommendations (email, Slack, calendar). Positions as the layer after Otter/Fireflies. Fast enterprise push.
ICP Mid-market / enterprise knowledge workers; Microsoft-heavy orgs.
HQ / founded / funding Seattle. Founded 2021. $81M ($21M Series A + $50M Series B Oct 2024, Smash Capital / Goodwater / Madrona). ~$450M valuation reported. 1M+ WAU claimed.
Pricing posture Freemium → Team → Enterprise. Well-capitalized; will discount to win seats.
Authenticity problem Broader attack surface: not just the meeting transcript but derived recommendations across email/Slack. “Read said the deal was at risk” is a generated judgment, easily treated as fact in a CRM.
Zapier role Meeting + insight events into CRM/ITSM. Seal the source transcript, not the recommendation.

Grain

Field Profile
Name Grain
Parent/owner Independent. Founded by brothers Jake Adams and Geoff/Jake team (Jake Adams + brother).
Website https://grain.com
Zap count 463
USP Video-first meeting recorder: clip and share highlights, not just text. Automated notes to Slack/HubSpot. “Stories from the call.”
ICP Growing sales/CS teams that coach from video clips.
HQ / founded / funding San Francisco (548 Market). Founded 2018. ~$20M ($16M Series A Apr 2022, Tiger Global / John Curtius, Zoom Apps Fund, Unusual, Freestyle; Slack Fund, Acrew).
Pricing posture Free to start; cost-effective team plans vs Gong.
Authenticity problem Highlight reels are the authenticity hazard — a 30-second clip is a selected excerpt. Easy to imply a commitment that the full tape does not support. Need seal of full recording + hash of any published clip.
Zapier role New recording / highlight → CRM, Slack. Seal full meeting; optionally seal published clip as a derived object.

Notta

Field Profile
Name Notta
Parent/owner Independent (Notta Inc. / Wonder Tech lineage).
Website https://notta.ai
Zap count 460
USP APAC-strong AI notetaker: live meetings, uploaded audio, multilingual (JP/CN/EN). Record + transcribe + summarize + action plans.
ICP Japanese and broader APAC professionals; bilingual teams.
HQ / founded / funding Tokyo. Founded 2020. $31.5M, through Series B (Granite Asia, GSR, Mizuho, CDH, GL Ventures).
Pricing posture Freemium with minute/language limits; Pro/Business seats.
Authenticity problem Multilingual ASR error rates become legal facts (“the Japanese transcript said X”). Translation layer is a second generative step.
Zapier role New transcript → JP SaaS (Chatwork, etc.) and global CRM.

Tactiq

Field Profile
Name Tactiq
Parent/owner Independent. Co-founders Nick Nikolaiev and Ksenia Svechnikova (ex-Atlassian).
Website https://tactiq.io
Zap count 422
USP Live captions + instant transcripts in the meeting tab (Chrome/extension heritage). Action items without a heavy bot culture. Workflow automations post-call.
ICP Product/eng orgs (Atlassian-shaped); teams that hate meeting bots.
HQ / founded / funding Sydney. Founded 2020 (Antler). ~$7.310M Series A (2024, Flashpoint, Mucker, Antler Elevate). ~30 people.
Pricing posture Free extension tier; paid teams for unlimited transcripts/AI.
Authenticity problem Live captions are ephemeral ASR; saved transcript is a later export. Gap between what appeared on screen and what was stored.
Zapier role Transcript ready → Notion/Linear/CRM. Light-weight Zap.

Fellow

Field Profile
Name Fellow.ai
Parent/owner Independent. Co-founders Aydin Mirzaee (CEO), Amin Mirzaee (CPO), Samuel Cormier-Iijima (CTO).
Website https://fellow.ai
Zap count 384
USP Privacy/security-first AI notetaker. Evolved from meeting-agenda / manager copilot (Shopify was first customer) into AI recording + summaries. Enterprise security positioning.
ICP Mid-market / enterprise that already wanted structured 1:1s and now want AI notes with a security story.
HQ / founded / funding Ottawa, ON (532 Montréal Rd). Founded Nov 2017. ~$3031M ($6.5M seed 2019; $24M Series A 2021, Felicis et al.).
Pricing posture Team ~$7/user/mo annual; Business ~$15; Enterprise custom. Security as the paid delta.
Authenticity problem “Enterprise-grade security” (SOC2, access control) is not authenticity. Notes remain Fellow-attested. Stronger buyer for a seal add-on because they already buy on trust language.
Zapier role Meeting + action items → Jira/Asana/Slack.

Gong

Field Profile
Name Gong
Parent/owner Independent (Gong.io Inc.). Co-founders Amit Bendov (CEO) and Eilon Reshef.
Website https://www.gong.io
Zap count 283
USP Category-defining revenue intelligence. Records sales calls, scores deals, coaches reps, forecasts from conversation data. Not a consumer notetaker.
ICP Mid-market and enterprise sales orgs (ACV historically ~$100K+). LinkedIn, HubSpot-class logos.
HQ / founded / funding San Francisco + Tel Aviv (also Lehi, Dublin, etc.). Founded 2015. ~$583584M over 7 rounds; Series E $250M (2021). Peak valuation $7.25B; later marks ~$4.5B. ~$500M ARR reported in 2026 coverage. 2K+ employees.
Pricing posture Enterprise quote-only. High ACV, multi-year. Not competing on Zap volume.
Authenticity problem Highest-stakes transcripts on this list. Gong calls are used in deal desk, termination, quota disputes, and (for some customers) customer-complaint files. Deal “scores” and AI call summaries influence compensation. For broker-dealers, Gong is not a 17a-4 WORM archive unless paired with a compliance recorder. A sealed raw call + sealed Gong-generated recap would be a real product.
Zapier role Call completed / deal insight → Salesforce, Slack, Gong Engage. Low Zap count vs Fathom because enterprise iPaaS/native SFDC. OEM/partnership, not PLG Zap.

Transkriptor

Field Profile
Name Transkriptor
Parent/owner Independent product company (Delaware-style corp listings; operating team Unknown / often grouped with AI writing tools). Not a known public-company subsidiary.
Website https://transkriptor.com
Zap count 163
USP Upload any media → text; notes management; 100+ languages; price-competitive ASR.
ICP Freelancers, students, podcasters, SMB who upload files rather than bot-join meetings.
HQ / founded / funding Listed Middletown, DE (formation address). Founded ~2021. Unfunded / bootstrapped per Tracxn.
Pricing posture Usage / minute packs. Cheap vs Rev human.
Authenticity problem File-in, transcript-out with no chain from original media hash. Users download a .docx that looks like a certified transcript.
Zapier role New transcript file → Drive/Dropbox/Notion. Seal the output PDF/DOCX at generation.

Sembly AI

Field Profile
Name Sembly AI (formerly Powow AI / Makent)
Parent/owner Independent. Founder Artem Koren.
Website https://www.sembly.ai
Zap count 125
USP “Smartest AI team assistant” — notes, tasks, and (newer) client-ready deliverables from professional-services meetings. SOC2 Type II.
ICP Professional services (consulting, agencies) that want work product, not just notes.
HQ / founded / funding New York (234 5th Ave). Founded 2019 (some listings 2022). Small VC + StartEngine / angel ($3M cited across rounds). Low ARR ($23M historical).
Pricing posture Seat + usage; SMB. Crowdfunding suggests capital-constrained.
Authenticity problem Generating client deliverables from a meeting multiplies the generative leap (notes → SOW). Those artifacts look like professional work product.
Zapier role Meeting → task systems / docs. Niche Zap.

Avoma

Field Profile
Name Avoma
Parent/owner Independent. Co-founders Aditya Kothadiya (CEO), Devendra Laulkar, Albert Lai.
Website https://avoma.com
Zap count 102
USP All-in-one meeting assistant + conversation/revenue intelligence + coaching + forecasting. Positions between Fireflies and Gong.
ICP Mid-market sales/CS orgs that find Gong too expensive.
HQ / founded / funding Palo Alto. Founded 2017. $15M ($3M seed K9 / HubSpot Ventures; $12M Series A Headline, 2021).
Pricing posture Mid-market SaaS seats; below Gong, above Fathom.
Authenticity problem Same CI problem as Gong at smaller ACV: coaching scores and forecast AI treated as ground truth.
Zapier role Call/notes → CRM. Modest Zap usage.

Rev

Field Profile
Name Rev
Parent/owner Independent. Founder/CEO Jason Chicola; CTO/co-founder Paul Huck. Acquired SmartDepo (2025) for legal depositions.
Website https://www.rev.com
Zap count 68
USP Human + AI transcription and captions. Oldest “accuracy” brand on the list (since 2010). Journalists, legal, media. Claims 93.7M hours in 2025.
ICP Media, legal (now depositions via SmartDepo), researchers, enterprises that will pay per-minute for accuracy.
HQ / founded / funding Austin / US. Founded 2010 (early oDesk alumni). $4.5M Series A (2013, Globespan) plus later private capital; total Unknown (not a recent mega-round).
Pricing posture Per-minute AI (cheap) and per-minute human (premium, 99%). Not seat-based PLG.
Authenticity problem Human transcripts are treated as certified. They are not. Revs own human layer is a vendor process; AI layer is generative. Legal depo adjacency (SmartDepo) raises the cost of a disputed transcript. A sealed audio hash + sealed transcript version is the missing piece of a “certified transcript.”
Zapier role Order complete → file to Drive/S3. Low volume, high value per file.

Sonix

Field Profile
Name Sonix
Parent/owner Independent.
Website https://sonix.ai
Zap count 66
USP Automated transcription + rich in-browser editor, annotations, export. Speed/accuracy focus since 2017. 49+ languages.
ICP Journalists, podcasters, researchers, video teams.
HQ / founded / funding San Francisco. Founded ~20162017. Funding Unknown (likely small/bootstrapped).
Pricing posture Hourly / subscription transcription. Transparent usage pricing.
Authenticity problem Edited transcript in Sonixs editor can diverge from audio with no independent version seal. “Export as PDF” looks official.
Zapier role Transcript ready → CMS/Drive.

Chorus by ZoomInfo

Field Profile
Name Chorus by ZoomInfo
Parent/owner ZoomInfo (Nasdaq historically ZI). Acquired Jul 2021 for $575M cash. Chorus founded ~2015 (Israel/US). ZoomInfo itself PE-influenced post-take-private dynamics — treat parent as ZoomInfo.
Website https://www.chorus.ai · https://www.zoominfo.com/products/chorus
Zap count 66
USP Conversation intelligence inside ZoomInfos GTM data platform. Record/analyze sales calls; patented ML; AI summaries.
ICP ZoomInfo customers — B2B sales orgs already buying contact data.
HQ / founded / funding Chorus: SF / Israel, 2015; parent ZoomInfo HQ Vancouver, WA. Acquisition funded on ZoomInfo balance sheet.
Pricing posture Bundled / enterprise with ZoomInfo. Quote-only.
Authenticity problem Same as Gong, plus ZoomInfo data overlay (“this person said X, and our database says they are the economic buyer”). Composite of AI transcript + third-party data. Not 17a-4.
Zapier role Thin Zap; native ZoomInfo/Salesforce is the real pipe. Partnership conversation via ZoomInfo, not PLG.

HappyScribe

Field Profile
Name HappyScribe (Happy Scribe)
Parent/owner Independent. Co-founder/CTO Marc Assens.
Website https://www.happyscribe.com
Zap count 59
USP AI transcription + optional human 99%+ in 150+ languages, plus subtitles, translation, and AI notetaker. One platform for media and meetings.
ICP EU media/localization teams; multilingual SMBs.
HQ / founded / funding Barcelona (some PitchBook rows say Dublin). Founded 2017. €2M seed (2021, K Fund, YC, TinyVC, Angels Capital / Juan Roig). Also describes itself as largely bootstrapped.
Pricing posture Minutes + human upgrade. Transparent EU pricing.
Authenticity problem Dual-mode (AI vs human) without a cryptographic distinction on the export. Translation is a third generative hop.
Zapier role File transcribed → DAM/CMS.

Meetgeek.ai

Field Profile
Name MeetGeek
Parent/owner Independent.
Website https://meetgeek.ai
Zap count 55
USP Record/transcribe/summarize + post-meeting automation. Bot-optional. 60+ languages. Enterprise: SSO, SCIM, data residency, private deploy.
ICP EU/global SMBs; some enterprise (Antler as a public story).
HQ / founded / funding Bucharest, Romania. Founded 20182020. **$0.71.9M** seed (Early Game Ventures, EUR 1.6M cited). 1150 people.
Pricing posture Free + Pro/Business mix-and-match licenses; Enterprise custom. 30% off startups/edu.
Authenticity problem Standard AI-notes problem. Private deploy still vendor-attested unless sealed.
Zapier role Meeting → CRM/tasks. Small Zap.

Supernormal

Field Profile
Name Supernormal
Parent/owner Independent. Founders include Maya Prohovnik (ex-YouTube) and Jon Noronha (ex-SurveyMonkey).
Website https://supernormal.com
Zap count 37
USP Bot-free meeting notes, now pivoted toward AI agents for agencies (notes → slides, docs, client work). 700k+ orgs claimed. SOC2 Type II.
ICP Agencies and client-services teams.
HQ / founded / funding New York. Founded ~2020. $10M seed (Balderton-led).
Pricing posture Freemium bot-free notes; paid agents/seats.
Authenticity problem Agents turn a fallible transcript into client-facing decks and docs — generated work product with no provenance to the source call.
Zapier role Notes ready → agency stack (Asana, Drive). Low Zap count.

CallCabinet Atmos

Field Profile
Name CallCabinet Atmos
Parent/owner Smarsh (Portland). Acquired 4 Feb 2025. CallCabinet was a cloud compliance recorder (Atmos on Azure). Brand migrating to Smarsh Call Recording.
Website https://www.callcabinet.com · https://www.smarsh.com/callcabinet
Zap count 3
USP Enterprise compliance call recording + QA + analytics. Multi-PBX, Teams-native, carrier-grade. This is the 17a-4 / MiFID / FCA voice-archive product on the list — not a meeting notetaker.
ICP Banks, broker-dealers, insurers, contact centers, any org that must record and retain voice.
HQ / founded / funding CallCabinet: US/SA operations historically; now Smarsh (PE-backed comms-archive leader). Acquisition terms Unknown. Smarsh is the global WORM/archive incumbent.
Pricing posture Enterprise subscription / per-user recording. High ACV, long sales cycle.
Authenticity problem They already sell the regulatory answer — but it is vendor WORM, not independent cryptographic proof. Smarsh 17a-4 offering: capture, preserve, playback, letters of undertaking. The residual gap is the same DataCubes thesis: the archive is Smarsh-attested. Also: AI analytics/summaries on top of Atmos recordings recreate the generative authenticity hole unless the raw recording is what is sealed. Highest-fit OEM on this vertical for 17a-4.
Zapier role Almost unused (3 Zaps). Compliance buyers do not automate via Zapier. Direct/OEM, not PLG.

Laxis

Field Profile
Name Laxis
Parent/owner Independent (Laxis Inc.). Expanding into AI SDR + OSO AI earbuds.
Website https://www.laxis.com
Zap count 17
USP Bot-free meeting assistant + AI voice keyboard + sales agent. 100+ languages. Hardware adjacency.
ICP Revenue teams and mobile-first users; AppSumo/PLG history.
HQ / founded / funding Founded 2020. HQ Unknown (US corp). Funding Unknown (likely small).
Pricing posture Low-cost PLG / lifetime deals; freemium app.
Authenticity problem Bot-free + hardware mic = messy chain of custody (which device captured what). Transcript still AI.
Zapier role Negligible.

Noty.ai

Field Profile
Name Noty.ai
Parent/owner Independent. Leadership includes Vadim Rogovskiy.
Website https://noty.ai
Zap count 8
USP AI meeting assistant focused on turning talk into tracked to-dos. 100k+ users claimed.
ICP Individual knowledge workers, Eastern Europe/global SMB.
HQ / founded / funding Middletown, DE 19709 (formation HQ). Founded 2022. Funding Unknown.
Pricing posture Freemium / cheap seats.
Authenticity problem Standard AI notes; tasks created from inferred commitments.
Zapier role Token.

IceCubes

Field Profile
Name IceCubes
Parent/owner Independent.
Website https://icecubes.app
Zap count 3
USP Bot-free meeting intelligence; transcripts + AI summaries pushed to CRM/AI tools.
ICP Privacy-sensitive teams that refuse meeting bots.
HQ / founded / funding Unknown. Early-stage.
Pricing posture Unknown (likely freemium).
Authenticity problem Bot-free capture is harder to notice and easier to dispute (“I didnt know I was recorded”). No independent seal.
Zapier role Token; CRM-push is the product.

Vertical 10 — where to play

Motion Best targets
PLG Zap “seal this transcript” Fathom, Otter, Fireflies, tl;dv (volume)
Enterprise OEM / 17a-4 CallCabinet/Smarsh, then Gong, Chorus
Narrative wedge Krisp (processed audio), Grain (clips), Rev (fake “certified” human transcript)
Skip / later Noty, IceCubes, Laxis (no density)

Vertical 11 — Document Generation & PDF Automation (21)

These vendors are OEM partners, not competitors. They mint the PDF. Sealing at generate-document is the cleanest technical integration on Zapier (action: Create Document → action: Seal).

PandaDoc

Field Profile
Name PandaDoc
Parent/owner Independent. Co-founders Mikita Mikado (CEO) and Sergey Barysiuk (CTO). Started as Quote Roller.
Website https://www.pandadoc.com
Zap count 4,789
USP All-in-one sales docs: generate, send, track, CPQ, eSign, payments. 30k+ customers; $100M+ ARR reported.
ICP SMB → mid-market sales orgs (proposals, quotes, contracts). API for product-led embedding.
HQ / founded / funding San Francisco (founded Minsk 2011 as Quote Roller; PandaDoc 2013; HQ moved 2014). Series C Sep 2021 at $1B valuation (OMERS, G Squared). Total funding cited **$50150M** depending on whether the C is counted as $100M.
Pricing posture Essentials from ~$1949/user/mo; Business; Enterprise + CPQ/API custom. Add-ons inflate cost.
Authenticity problem Generated proposal/contract + native eSign = the document looks executed. Tracking pixels prove opens, not integrity. Template merge errors become “the signed deal.” Seal at send and at sign (if not already covered in e-sign vertical).
Zapier role Highest doc-gen Zap volume. Triggers: document sent/completed/paid. Prime “seal completed PDF” action.

PDFMonkey

Field Profile
Name PDFMonkey
Parent/owner Independent. Bootstrapped French SaaS.
Website https://www.pdfmonkey.io
Zap count 617
USP Template dashboard + simple REST API to generate PDFs. 20 free PDFs/mo. Designed for Zapier/Make.
ICP No-code builders and small product teams automating invoices, certificates, reports.
HQ / founded / funding France. Founded ~20192020. Bootstrapped.
Pricing posture Usage-based, cheap. Free tier for trial.
Authenticity problem Every output is a generated official-looking PDF (invoice, certificate, contract). No proof of template version or data snapshot. Ideal first OEM — they already think in “document created” events.
Zapier role The Zapier-native PDF action. Generate → email/Drive. Insert seal as next step.

Qwilr

Field Profile
Name Qwilr
Parent/owner Independent. Co-founders Dylan Baskind and Mark Tanner (ex-Google).
Website https://qwilr.com
Zap count 424
USP Interactive web-page proposals (not Word/PDF-first). Live pricing, analytics, payments. Design-forward sales experience.
ICP Agencies, SaaS sales, premium B2B.
HQ / founded / funding Redfern / Sydney, Australia. Founded 2014. ~$8.9M (AirTree-led $7.25M Series A May 2020; earlier seed).
Pricing posture Business ~$35/user/mo; higher tiers ~$59; no cheap seat.
Authenticity problem The “document” is a mutable web page. Buyer can be shown version A; seller later edits live pricing. Classic provenance problem. PDF export is a snapshot of a living page.
Zapier role Page accepted / viewed → CRM. Seal the accepted snapshot, not the live URL.

Formstack Documents (ex-WebMerge)

Field Profile
Name Formstack Documents (formerly WebMerge)
Parent/owner Formstack (Indianapolis). WebMerge acquired 2019. Formstack backed by PSG Equity and Silversmith ($425M growth, Nov 2021).
Website https://www.webmerge.me · https://www.formstack.com
Zap count 338
USP Merge data into PDF/DOCX: contracts, invoices, tickets. Classic Zapier document automation (WebMerge was a Zapier staple).
ICP Ops teams already on Formstack Forms; Salesforce merge shops.
HQ / founded / funding Formstack: Indianapolis, founded 2006. WebMerge: acquired 2019. PE-backed scale-up.
Pricing posture Packaged with Formstack suite or standalone docs SKU. Mid-market.
Authenticity problem High-volume generated legal-ish PDFs from form data. Template+data merge is exactly the seal moment.
Zapier role Legacy WebMerge Zaps still run. Document generated trigger is a native seal hook.

Docupilot

Field Profile
Name Docupilot
Parent/owner Independent (Docupilot Inc.).
Website https://docupilot.app
Zap count 220
USP Affordable document automation: PDF/DOCX contracts, invoices from online data + eSign. Positions as cheaper PandaDoc/WebMerge.
ICP SMBs and no-code ops (Airtable, Zapier).
HQ / founded / funding Delaware corp (Dover listed); engineering commonly described as India-based. Founded 2018. Funding Unknown (likely bootstrapped). 210 employees listed.
Pricing posture Low, usage + seat. “Fair cost” vs PandaDoc.
Authenticity problem Same generated-contract problem at SMB prices — more likely to be used for certificates and offer letters.
Zapier role Create document from form/CRM row. Clean action to wrap.

APITemplate.io

Field Profile
Name APITemplate.io
Parent/owner Independent.

Regulated embed Docmosis, Anvil, Gavel/Relativity, Windward/Apryse
Skip PDFgen, ComPDF, Aspose Zap (SDK not Zap)

Vertical 12 — Credentials & Certificates (13)

The product is a claim about a person. Verification today = issuers website. Sale: make verification survive the issuers servers, rebrands, and M&A (Credly→Pearson, EdApp→SafetyCulture→Mitti).

Credly

Field Profile
Name Credly (Credly Acclaim)
Parent/owner Pearson (acquired 2022, reported ~$200M). “Credly by Pearson.”

ICP Global cert bodies, vendors (Microsoft, IBM, CompTIA-class), universities, employers.

Pricing posture Quote-only. Rough street: ~$3,000/yr for 500 badges + onboarding ($500$15k). Opaque, enterprise.
Authenticity problem Badge verification is “ask Credly/Pearson.” Network effects hide that the cryptographic story is Open Badge hosted by Pearson. If Pearson deprecates a program or a badge class, third-party proof evaporates. Independent seal of issuance event is the upgrade.
Zapier role Issue badge when LMS/course completes. Mid Zap volume. Pearson sales motion, not PLG.

Pricing posture Free up to ~250 credentials/yr, then paid. Transparent vs Credly.
Authenticity problem High volume of easily forged-looking PDFs/badges from Zapier. A certificate issued from a Typeform submit is a generated claim with no identity proofing. Hottest authenticity risk + easiest Zap wrap.
Zapier role Highest credential Zap count (381). Default “issue certificate” action in no-code land.

Sertifier

Field Profile
Name Sertifier
Parent/owner Independent.

HQ / founded / funding Singapore. Founded ~20192020. Funding Unknown.
Pricing posture Enterprise / government.
Authenticity problem Closest existing “verifiable document” competitor. Still issuer-platform-dependent (their VC stack). Sale is independence from Accredifys ledger/hosting, or partnership as the US/crypto-adjacent proof layer. Do not naively pitch “we do VC” — they already do.
Zapier role Token. Public-sector RFP, not Zapier.

Field Profile
Name Go1
Parent/owner Independent. Brisbane LXP.

Pricing posture Training SKU historically freemium (“free forever” marketing); paid enterprise + bundle with Mitti.
Authenticity problem Frontline compliance training certificates after a 3-minute microlesson. These get waved at OSHA/insurers. Seal of completion + course version matters in incident litigation.

Name Google Forms
Parent/owner Alphabet / Google (Google Workspace).
Website https://www.google.com/forms
Zap count 55,368 (rank ~16)

HQ / founded / funding Reston, VA. Founded 2008. K1-backed then strategic exit to Nemetschek.
Pricing posture Per-user field SaaS. Mid-market.
Authenticity problem Field evidence. Photos + completed checklists used in claims. Same thesis as inspection vertical — GPS/time in the app is vendor-attested. Stronger per-record value than Typeform.
Zapier role Submission → back office. Keep; also route via Nemetschek relationship.

Device Magic

ICP Field teams (often overlapping GoCanvas).
HQ / founded / funding Founded 2011; Raleigh, NC listing; South African engineering roots. Now Nemetschek.
Pricing posture Per-device/user. Being rationalized with GoCanvas.
Authenticity problem Identical to GoCanvas: field forms as later evidence. Dual-brand confusion.
Zapier role Small. Do not build twice — one Nemetschek connector.

ICP Utilities, government, environmental, telecom field GIS.
HQ / founded / funding St. Petersburg / Tampa Bay, FL. Founded ~2011. Spatial Networks-backed (private).

ICP Microsoft 365 customers.
HQ / founded / funding Prague / EU. Bootstrapped.
Pricing posture Bundled with Plumsail suite.
Authenticity problem Handwritten notes on forms look like wet-ink evidence. They are a PNG in a SharePoint item.
Zapier role Thin; Power Automate is native. Pair with Documents.

Formitize

Field Profile
Name Formitize

Website https://formitize.com
Zap count 32
USP Paper-to-digital for trades: dispatch, house inspections, sales, call QA. Australian field ops.

Mitti

Field Profile
Name Mitti
Parent/owner SafetyCulture rebranded to Mitti (2026). Australian-founded (Luke Anear, 2004 as iAuditor/SafetyCulture). US HQ Kansas City. Same parent as EdApp/SC Training.
Website https://mitti.com
Zap count 447
USP Frontline operations platform: inspections, issues, tasks, comms, training. 80k+ orgs, 2M+ frontline workers. iAuditor heritage. Zapier listing still says “built by SafetyCulture.”
ICP Frontline industries worldwide (construction, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, mining).
HQ / founded / funding Sydney origin; KC US HQ. SafetyCulture was a heavily funded Australian unicorn-scale company (exact last round not re-verified here; treat as well-capitalized).
Pricing posture Freemium seats + paid platform. Competes with GoCanvas on “free users + paid.”
Authenticity problem Strongest field-evidence overlap with vertical 3. Inspection + photo + issue + training certificate in one platform, all vendor-attested. Rebrand (SafetyCulture→Mitti) is itself a provenance headache for old iAuditor PDFs. Seal of inspection-as-completed is high value.
Zapier role Highest “field form” Zap on this list (447). Inspection completed → Slack/Drive/HR. Do not treat as a cheap Typeform; treat as inspection-grade.

Vertical 13 — where to play

Motion Best targets
Free-tier distribution Google Forms, Tally, Typeform, Jotform
Field evidence (paid-quality records) Mitti, GoCanvas/Device Magic (Nemetschek), Fulcrum, Formitize, MoreApp
Suite chain (form→PDF→sign) Formstack
Skip as paid motion Wufoo (harvest legacy Zaps only)

Cross-vertical notes

SEC 17a-4 (meetings)

Rule 17a-4 requires broker-dealers to preserve electronic communications in a non-rewriteable, non-erasable (WORM or audit-trail) form, with timely access and often a third-party access undertaking.

Vendor 17a-4 relevance
CallCabinet / Smarsh Sells this. Residual gap: Smarsh-attested WORM vs independent seal; AI summaries on Atmos are not the preserved record.
Gong, Chorus Used on sales floors of some regulated firms; not a substitute for a compliance recorder.
Fathom, Otter, Fireflies, tl;dv, etc. Explicitly not 17a-4 archives. If a reps “notes” become the file, the firm has a supervision/books-and-records hole.

Authenticity failure modes (by artifact)

| Artifact | Typical failure | Vendors | |---|---| | AI transcript / summary | Regenerable, editable, model error treated as quote | Entire v10 except raw Atmos recordings | | Highlight clip | Selective excerpt | Grain, Fathom | | Processed audio | Noise removal changes the signal | Krisp | | “Human certified” transcript | Process attestation, not crypto | Rev, HappyScribe human tier | | Generated PDF | Template silently changed; data snapshot unsigned | Entire v11 | | Live web proposal | Mutated after “send” | Qwilr | | Digital badge | Verification = issuer GET | Entire v12 | | Form row / Sheet | Admin edit after the fact | Entire v13 | | Field inspection | Photo+time+GPS vendor-attested | Mitti, GoCanvas, Fulcrum, Formitize |

Suggested first commercial conversations

  1. PDFMonkey / Docupilot / Formstack Documents — seal-on-generate Zap, days not months.
  2. Fathom / Fireflies / Otter — seal-on-meeting-complete; 17a-4 narrative for their enterprise SKUs.
  3. Certifier / Accredible — seal-on-issue; “verification that survives us.”
  4. Smarsh/CallCabinet — OEM for independent hash alongside WORM (only vendor that already speaks 17a-4).
  5. Mitti / Nemetschek GoCanvas — field record seal; do not price like a form tool.
  6. Gong — last, not first: long enterprise cycle, but highest ACV if conversation intelligence summaries become compensable facts.
