Fixes a request-scoping bug in the new-protocol logging path.
`ServerSession.handle` decoded
`_meta[io.modelcontextprotocol/logLevel]`, but stored it in
`ServerSessionState.LogLevel`. Concurrent new-protocol requests on the
same session could therefore clear or inherit another request's log
threshold before the original handler emitted logs.
This keeps the new-protocol log level on the handler context instead.
`ServerSession.Log` and `LoggingHandler.Enabled` read that context value
first, while legacy `logging/setLevel` behavior still uses session
state.
Tests:
- `go test ./mcp -run
TestServerLogLevelDoesNotLeakBetweenNewProtocolRequests -count=1`
- `go test -race ./mcp -run
TestServerLogLevelDoesNotLeakBetweenNewProtocolRequests -count=1`
- `go test ./mcp -run TestEndToEnd -count=1`
- `go test ./mcp -run TestValidateRequestMeta -count=1`
- `go test ./mcp -run
TestStreamableStateless_NewProtocolSession_NoFakeInit -count=1`
- `go test ./... -skip
TestSSELocalhostProtection|TestStreamableLocalhostProtection`
A full `go test ./...` run in my local environment still fails the two
localhost protection cases for `0.0.0.0 via localhost rejects evil.com`;
those same two tests also fail when run directly and are unrelated to
this logging change.

Replaces the simple time-interval check in `LoggingHandler` with a
standard `rate.Limiter` from `golang.org/x/time/rate`, as suggested by
the existing TODO comment.
This provides a well-tested implementation and removes the need for
manual `lastMessageSent` tracking. The rate (`1/MinInterval`) and burst
(1) match the previous behavior exactly.

Address TODOs in code requiring go 1.24 as minimum version
mcp/logging.go: use slog.DiscardHandler, over local implementation
mcp/util.go: use rand.Text, over local implementation
Fixes#772
mcp/server.go: implement server‑side logging
- Thread a *slog.Logger through server paths to improve debuggability
- Introduce no‑op discard handler + ensureLogger so loggers are never
nil
- Use ensured loggers in Server
- address todo comments related to adding logging support
All tests are passing and no functionality should change with this PR
Fixes https://github.com/modelcontextprotocol/go-sdk/issues/170
Support stateless streamable sessions by adding a GetSessionID function
to StreamableHTTPOptions. If GetSessionID returns "", the session is
stateless, and no validation is performed. This is implemented by
providing the session a trivial initialization state.
To implement this, some parts of #232 (distributed sessions) are copied
over, since they add an API for creating an already-initialized session.
In total, the following new API is added:
- StreamableHTTPOptions.GetSessionID
- ServerSessionOptions (a new parameter to Server.Connect)
- ServerSessionState
- ClientSessionOptions (a new parameter to Client.Connect, for symmetry)
For #10
This pull request addresses multiple minor documentation and code
comment fixes to correct typos and improve clarity. These changes do not
introduce functional modifications but enhance readability and
professionalism.
### Documentation Fixes:
* Corrected a typo in the "Security Considerations" section header in
`design/design.md`. ("Securty" → "Security")
* Fixed spelling errors in the "Governance and Community" section of
`design/design.md`. ("accomodating" → "accommodating")
* Updated the "Proposals" section in `design/design.md` to fix a typo.
("accomodate" → "accommodate")
### Code Comment Fixes:
* Corrected a typo in a comment in `mcp/logging.go`. ("LoggingMesssage"
→ "LoggingMessage")
* Fixed a typo in a comment in `mcp/streamable.go`. ("priviledged" →
"privileged")

## Additional context
<!-- Add any other context, implementation notes, or design decisions

Provide a ServerSession method that directly implements the spec
method.
Also provide a custom slog.Handler that writes a notification on each
log call. It uses a slog.JSONHandler to format the message as JSON, then
adds the additional fields of LoggingMessageParams.
I decided that the direct method should handle levels, since that is
in the spec, but that rate-limiting is an extra feature, so is only
provided in the slog handler.
