fixes#573fixes#574fixes#708
- Handlers ran on `Dispatchers.IO` → now `Dispatchers.Default`,
configurable via `handlerDispatcher`.
- Reader/writer dispatcher exposed as `ioDispatcher` (default
`IODispatcher.limitedParallelism(2)`).
- Optional caller-supplied `CoroutineScope` so the pipeline isn't
detached from the caller's tree.
- `CancellationException` consistently rethrown across all pumps.
- Unbounded channels → bounded with graceful drain on close (in-flight
outbound flushed before `onClose`).
- Input `Source` now closed on natural EOF / reader error (was leaking
for non-`System.in` sources).
- Race between `start()` and `close()` fixed via 3-state CAS +
`setupComplete` barrier replacing `AtomicBoolean`.
## How Has This Been Tested?
unit and integration tests
## Breaking Changes
- Handlers default to `Dispatchers.Default` (was `Dispatchers.IO`).
Override with `handlerDispatcher = Dispatchers.IO` if your handlers
perform blocking I/O.
- `send()` suspends under back-pressure instead of buffering unbounded.
- `StdioServerTransport(input, output)` ctor is `@Deprecated` (WARNING)
in favor of `StdioServerTransport(input, output) { ... }`. Still
binary-compatible.

Add a Claude Code skill (`.claude/skills/mcp-docs/`) that provides live
MCP documentation and specification context
## Motivation and Context
The modelcontextprotocol.io site provides both an [MCP
server](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/mcp) and an
[llms.txt](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/llms.txt) index for
machine-readable access to the documentation. This skill leverages both
to give Claude live access to the current spec during development.
## How Has This Been Tested?
The skill was evaluated on 3 realistic scenarios (implementation, code
review, spec question) comparing with-skill vs without-skill baseline:
- **Pass rate**: 100% vs 67% — skill consistently cites spec sources and
uses RFC 2119 language
- **Token efficiency**: 41% fewer tokens on average (44k vs 75k) — goes
directly to spec instead of reverse-engineering from codebase
- **Accuracy**: with-skill discovered URL mode elicitation (new in spec
2025-11-25) that baseline missed entirely
- **Description triggering**: optimized through 5 iterations of
automated trigger evaluation against 20 test prompts

## Motivation and Context
1. The currently failing checks are commented out in `ConformanceTest`,
see the TODOs.
2. I added detailed logging for Gradle task, Server, and Client to allow
easier output reading when viewing tests results outside of IDE.
3. As a future improvement, instead of hard-coding scenarios, we can get
them with `npx @modelcontextprotocol/conformance list` and run all of
them.
4. The conformance framework writes its result into
`kotlin-sdk-test/results` directory and contains JSONs like the one
below:
```json
[
{
"id": "mcp-client-initialization",
"name": "MCPClientInitialization",
"description": "Validates that MCP client properly initializes with server",
"status": "SUCCESS",
"timestamp": "2025-11-28T14:38:36.718Z",
"specReferences": [
{
"id": "MCP-Lifecycle",
"url": "https://modelcontextprotocol.io/specification/2025-06-18/basic/lifecycle"
}
],
"details": {
"protocolVersionSent": "2025-06-18",
"expectedSpecVersion": "2025-06-18",
"versionMatch": true,
"clientName": "kotlin-conformance-client",
"clientVersion": "1.0.0"
}
},
{
"id": "server-info",
"name": "ServerInfo",
"description": "Test server info returned to client",
"status": "INFO",
"timestamp": "2025-11-28T14:38:36.718Z",
"specReferences": [
{
"id": "MCP-Lifecycle",
"url": "https://modelcontextprotocol.io/specification/2025-06-18/basic/lifecycle"
}
],
"details": {
"serverName": "test-server",
"serverVersion": "1.0.0"
}
}
]
```
As another future improvement, we can do somethig with these JSON files,
like putting them into a job summary on GitHub.
5. The client test also generated stderr.txt file in
`kotlin-sdk-test/results/initialize-.......` which contains errors
because it tries to call a tool. I haven't investigated if it's just the
way I wrote the client or related to `StreamableHttpClientTransport`.
6. The server is the simplified version of the existing server for
Kotlin<--->Typescript tests. If conformance tests extend significantly,
we can either combine the server implementations or ditch the
integration tests.

## #252 Add module documentation and enhance Dokka configuration
## How Has This Been Tested?
`./gradlew :docs:dokkaGenerate`
## Changes
- Add workflow to build and publish API documentation with Dokka
- Introduce `.github/workflows/apidocs.yaml` to build and deploy API
docs on `main` and release events.
- Configure Gradle for Dokka builds and update project dependencies.
- Include `:docs` module in project settings.
- Introduce `Module.md` for `kotlin-sdk-server`, `kotlin-sdk-client`,
and `kotlin-sdk-core` modules.
- Update `.gitignore` to include `.idea/icon.png` and add placeholder
icon files
- Remove outdated documentation HTML files
